Vols Spring Football Practice #2

From a 6 second clip of an early enrolling true freshman on the second day of spring practice running a 10 yd out on air? He should be getting ready for prom and you’re already passing this type of judgement on a kid. You are either a troll or just ignorant. JMO
I’m not a troll and I won’t admit to being ignorant. He moves about as well as a guy like Jason Croom. Hopefully he’ll be a solid contributor but I don’t see an elite athlete. That route sucked.

He’s not running his route full speed and is probably still trying to get the details down of fine tuning how to run the specific routes our offense requires. I wouldn’t read too much into 1 rep. It’s day 2 of practice
I hope you’re right. Maybe he’s going about 60% speed or something

He moves like Benjie Shuler imo.

HIGHLY impressed by BOTH QB press availability sessions !!!
Practice No. 2 and Faizon is already dialed into exactly what his weaknesses are and what he needs to work on to improve.
G Mac just sounds more confident than last year all around. You can tell he's grasping things a lot better and it seems the offense has "slowed" down for him.

I think Heupel did the right thing as far as QB goes in the off-season - aim for the high caliber transfer guy knowing that you got two young guns that can still run the offense as good as the last guy, so don't break the bank to get the "superstar".

Throwing out all of his HS film in favor of a spring practice rep where he doesn't look to be going full speed is certainly one way to look at the situation...

To most, it seems unreasonable and that he should probably be given some time to settle in and build a rapport with his QBs and get accustomed to a college S&C program.

Did you expect anything else? This fanbase loves to belittle other Vol fans...
Yep. Any deviation from unbridled fandom is usually met with cries of "legion of the miserable", "nega", and my personal favorite...."troll" with calls for banishments.

Variety is the spice of life. I got no problem with different/dissenting opinions. It's just a different perspective. I'd rather have healthy debate than group think and the stifling of independent thought.

By the end of Fall practice, I am confident we will have three QBs who can effectively run our offense. I also believe our defense will be considerably improved over last year. Out team will be stronger and faster than last year.
will win at least 9 games and likely more.

Agree with 90% of this.

But the O/U is still 7.5. How long has it been since the Vols overachieved? 2022? 1998?

It is what it is. Heupel...the staff...and the team have a lot to prove to win me over.

Until then, the O/U applies.

Go Vols.

He's 6'2, nearly 6'3", and runs like a gazelle. If you've watched his film he is an effortless athlete, long strider. When he turns burners on its goodbye, he can high point, and wrestle ball away. Freakish. Guys has great ball skills, but I do agree his biggest knock is Hattesburg isnt a powerhouse, and he may not be most polished player...but he puts the work in could be really special.
