Does he play in the SEC tourney and if not and Vols bounced early does that negatively affect our seeding in the NCAAT? If Ament remains questionable and doesn't play in the SECT you have to think the selection committee takes that under consideration. Of course if Ament unable to play in either tourney really a moot point as the Vols likely exit early in both.

Why even care about the NCAAT seed and bother asking if you expect early exits in the tourneys?

I dont see them making it far in either tournament, regardless if he plays. This team is not consistent enough at being fundamentally sound on either side of the ball. Too many turnovers, terrible free throw shooting team, they are a solid rebounding team but they dont capitalize enough. Defense gets lost at times too.

Define “far”. You only have to win 2 games to make the sweet 16. Doesn’t take a ton of consistency. Now a final 4? We don’t have the consistency for that kind of run.

this could be one of those years where they dont make it out of the first weekend of the tournament. Not having a higher seed is gonna mean being matched up with better teams in the first 2 games than we have been in the last few years. When it gets down to it its always about match ups. And this team just has more flaws than the last few Barnes has had. Maybe they go on a run, who knows. But theres a lot of things that have to improve quickly for that to happen.

This team could either make a Final Four run or lose in the first round. Neither would shock me all that much.
A Final 4 run from this team would be very shocking to me. Winning 4 games in a row against teams ranging from good to elite doesn't seem possible. I mean, I know it is, but that would be crazy for this bunch.

Watching them get 5 rebounds in a row against SC and still miss every shot was maddening

We need to take a dive in the SEC and get ready for the dance at this point. Unfortunately this team looks like it has peaked. It's as good as it's going to get but there is always some luck in the NCAA so we might get lucky enough to squeeze through the first 2 rounds

A F4 run with this team would maybe be the most surprising turn of events since Cuonzo's final bunch came a foul away from reaching the E8. I'd be less surprised if I woke up tomorrow morning to find three bears sitting in my living room watching TV.

I'd definitely be more surprised by bears watching tv. Eating porridge, now, that's a different story.

I don't understand this logic at all.Since 1993 no team has won a national title that didn't at least make it to the semifinals of their conference tournament. And taking a dive is a loser mentality imo.

"Oh Eddie....if I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I am now."

They said they expected him back for the SECT
He use the SECT to shake off any pot'l rust. Really, really hope we use the SECT to get right and it starts by getting back to a starting lineup of JG/BB/Nate/JP/Felix with Brown and Evans getting the most bench mpg and Burg hopefully providing some solid minutes so JG can rest.

I would prefer Henderson if he is healthy over Burg but the starters outside of Boswell need to play 30+ minutes. Carey is an after thought at this point outside of foul trouble.
