GAME THREAD: SEC Tournament vs. Ala-damn-bama, Greenville, SC, 3/5, 8:30 pm, SECN

A key factor in this situation is Talaysia Cooper and Kim Caldwell as player & coach are clashing because they are just alike personality wise.
If you pay attention during a game you will rarely if ever see either one showing much excitement or enthusiasm.
I said this awhile back in that I’ve honestly not seen a head coach in WCBB that has such a stringent and combative approach with their team.
It’s not even just simply about fixing body language. Just relax. And ease the tension.
You can rarely see a moment in a game where there’s a positive interaction between coaches/players, players/players, or coaches/coaches.
This is not normal. And there’s no transfer portal or coaching job that can fix that behavior.

But is the cancer a player or a coach? Seriously though - if there are player issues - it is the coaches' responsibility to address those.

Difficult to watch this team. There isn't any facet of basketball they do well. I have no idea which of the sixteen staff members sitting on the bench are floor coaches, but my goodness.

Our passing is atrocious. A basic pillar of basketball is never shoot a bad pass. If this team applied that axiom we would never take a shot during a game. Unwatchable.

Spearman, Latham, and Barker do not handle the ball well and should not be asked to drive the ball out of that motion offense we run when all else fails.

I assume Cooper sat out most of the second half for that ridiculous one handed over the head backwards pass to no one. Cooper is the best player on this team but some nights her poor decisions make her the most effective player for both teams.

Sadly, this team needs to be completly rebuilt.
Cooper is the only player making them even competitive. What game are you watching

I don’t think you all that are going to extreme at this moment even take yourself seriously to be honest.
Now Talaysia Cooper went from not playing at all as a freshman to redshirting as a sophomore on a team that advance to the S16 and then starting earning All-SEC 2x and advancing to the S16 under Coach Caldwell.
IMO you’ve seen peak Talaysia with this staff and nothing you post will discredit that.
However, I don’t think it’ll hurt either side if she transfers or enters the WNBA draft.
And people need to stop using Prawl name for clicks right now. That kid is a freshman averaging 3.8 ppg and likely dealing with an injury why are folks using her to spread rumors about transferring is beyond me.

Apparently Talaysia went to the bus with a staff member while the team was in the locker room post game. She played 12 minutes. Her draft stock has plummeted with this staff. If I was her, I’d leave this dumpster fire and go where she’s wanted and will be on the floor. Assuming this is not what she signed up for with Harper.

Wynn, Prawl, and Cooper could be done before the season is even over. But yeah everything is fine… Fire Danny White.

If you’re watching what posts college students are liking and reporting that to a message board something isn’t adding up… do you though wow.

When the whole team seems to have given up, you have players quitting and others liking posts about them quitting, I doubt it’s just one or two cancerous players causing all of this.

It's the coach. They don't like her, and form her actions she seems very obtuse to it.
I'm curious what changed so drastically between Coach and Coop this year. They seem to do OK last year. Who can predict anything with this wild ass team, but it's hard to see Coop suiting up for the NCAA Tournament game

Prawl was in concussion protocol. That's why she didn't travel. Makes sense. At least that's one good thing, if concussions can be good.
I posted WVLT reporter John Santon post
Injury news about Prawn
will miss Thursday game
I guess he did know

If we take that if we it by that means Zee was playing well last year and has regressed considerably… she was on draft boards and gone off a ton u eee Caldwell

Also saying both sides won’t be hurt by cooper leaving i don’t know if that’s true she is an all sec talent (under caldwell) with that said thats talent you have to replace.

Prawls injury shouldn’t be used to spread rumors i agree … but i also wouldn’t be surprised if players hit the portal

That’s not true. She’s far from the only player making them competitive.
But that’s not all on Cooper or the rest of the team.
This is a gimmick system.
Even when it looks like it is working it can only go so far.

Cooper is the only player making them even competitive. What game are you watching

I went this extreme 2 years ago, so it’s not just this moment. Go back and read.

And yes 100% agreed on peak Talaysia with this staff. I think it helps her to leave.

She mentions STILL trying to figure out the best combinations on the floor. It’s March. Why are we still trying to figure this out. She needs to go

I always thought Kim was a bad hire and never thoight her gimmick system would be successful. but I feel so so sorry for her. That presser was just painful to watch. She did her best, they asked the pertinent questions, but there just are no answers. At least that she can articulate in public. Because the answer is she took a huge job not knowing if she was really qualified for it. And the answer is painfully obviously disastrously she is not. And the failure is so loud and so public and so connected to so much past success. I know this is nightmarish and horrible for her and I'm sorry that she was put in this position.
