With 4 games left to play, Tennessee is #2 in the regular season conference standings and 2 games back from Florida who is in the lead. Seems like a lot of stuff would have to break our way to have a realistic shot at winning the regular season championship, but this is a nice turn around from where things have been with this team. Here are Tennessee and Florida's next four games:

I think Florida is going to finish with 3 losses at most if not win out.

To be honest, my preference is they win out and we win out. That way Bama and Arkansas drop to the 3-4 position.

A lot of folks would have thought drugs were being used if folks were talking finishing 2nd post Kentucky game in Knoxville.

I’m still baffled we lost twice to Kentucky, yet won at Bama, Georgia, and Vandy whom beat them.

For whatever reason, we don’t match up well with them even though technically we’re the better team.
We did have double digit leads on them twice. We just missed too many bunnies and they hit some big shots on the other end. Iir we had the ball late and up in both games and just didn’t finish like today.

We were up double digits at halftime in both games; had nothing to do with being a bad matchup.

Please explain further -

Would really like to understand how UK seemingly dominated Vols in the 2nd half of both games.

If it's a match up problem, why were we able to dominate them in the 1st half both games? Neither of those games constitute what is usually referred to as a "match up" problem. Both of last year's regular season games are better examples, as in both we either barely had a lead or were behind most of the games even though we were the better team.

This year we were dominating them for over half the game each time. If the games this year are "match up" problems then you can pretty much describe every loss like that.

Florida beat us head to head so we would have to win out and they would have to lose 3.. not winning SEC this year let's just win a natty

We have to win out and they lose 2; if we tied with Florida, we'd be co-champs. Head to head only counts towards SECT seeding, they don't use it for a tiebreaker for SEC Championship.

We’re #3 now after the Arkansas win. They hold the tiebreaker.
We are tied for second. But with tie breakers we are 4th. Alabama, Arkansas, and Vols all are 10-4. Alabama beat Arkansas so they are second, Arkansas beat Tennessee so they are third. And we are fourth. For now.

I’d much rather have a deep postseason run than an SEC regular season title.
Exactly. Who cares where UT is ranked or what tie-breaker they hold or don’t hold heading into the SEC-T? This is a tournament sport. No one remembers that Auburn won the SEC regular season title last year!

It's insane to think about. We were dominating them in both games, yet melted down in the last 12 minutes in both.

I know Vandy beat the breaks off Kentucky. I think Georgia beat them. I'm not sure about Alabama.
