James Pearce Jr. arrested again

Considering that it's 10%, then it ain't cheap either. It's probably right for this sort of crime I would imagine. I guess they are not viewing him as a serious threat to her safety. Based on the initial reports his actions seem concerning.
That’s why I quoted the report. So you read that as $200k bail for which he posted a $20k bond. Makes sense.

Also ordered to stay away from Rickea.

And she needs to get the hell away from him. Like outta state.

Fox is reporting that he “posted $20,500 bond”. Not sure what if anything this says about the likelihood of significant jail time, but it doesn’t seem like a lot of money.

I would be interested to hear other people’s thoughts. My legal experience is limited to watching Law and Order.
Crazy that someone who they know has a tendency to be violent has been released back onto the street like that.

I think he's just worried about her safety since Pearce is back on the street.
Roger that. Nothing like letting the rabid dog back on the streets to eventually bite again, right?

There are times...rare times...when I wonder if maybe "Arab Justice" is such a bad thing. Like when it comes to thieves.

Or bullies.

So sad about this.
1) He was dating another professional athlete- college sweetheart. Can you imagine the genetics of their children.
- Rickea is 6’2
- James is 6’5

2) He had one of the best Rookie seasons ever.
10.5 Sacks.

Poor girl was scared for her life. Ran straight to the police.

Bryce Thompson had anger issues too, but Jesus. Hitting an officer with your car?? Geez James…

We would’ve had some stud athletes on campus in 18 or so years

Remember that Pearce is just accused of some of these things at this point. Sadly, some guys think they own women or their feelings are so hurt over rejection they get mad. Let's hope these are young and dumb overreactions, and he realize he can move forward to a better life if he accepts that's the way life works with relationships.

Young millionaire football players must avoid the taco.. The taco is very powerful and can ruin lives in the blink of an eye.
What a stupid statement. My woman could probably get me to do a lot of things (clean the gutters, cook her favorite dinner, give her another child...) brandishing a weapon at her or hitting her is not on that list. This is 100% on him. Furthermore, mentally and emotionally healthy men don't do this crap. I don't know what JPj's problem is, but the young man's psyche is clearly damaged in some way. Hopefully he gets some help before he completely ruins his life or terrorizes anyone else.

This behavior is pathological. You cannot apply rational thinking to it.
Exactly. You don't wake up and decide to hit your wife/girlfriend. Makes me wonder what kind of trauma Pearce may have been through growing up; if he witnessed his mother or other female relatives being abused or was abused himself. If that's the case then that's not his fault, but it's also not anyone else's problem. Too many men take their pain out on women and children in their lives. If he doesn't get the help he needs, then he deserves whatever's coming to him.

Maybe I’ve led a sheltered life (and I haven’t) but I’ve never assaulted my wife, or stalked anyone. I did run from police about 40 years ago (and got away) but it was the most stupid thing I ever did. Only by grace did I not kill myself or someone else.
Me and a friend ran from the cops on foot one night after pelting his car with apples.

Well, kids are also all just knuckleheads and they all need a good bit of discipline.

As a matter of fact, what UT needs as a team is more hardcore discipline and Pearce and his essentially coasting through his last year at UT was probably "over tolerated" because of his talent.

It's a problem that trickles down to the less talented.
This problem was a problem long before he arrived at UT. These are societal norms abd things learned through childhood. The tendencies are formed long before they arrive to college unfortunately.

Yes, I'm serious. Did you know how bad this guys character really was? I know I didn't or perhaps wasn't stuck on the talk leading up to the draft. We didn't see it in college. Perhaps I'm misremembering.
I don’t know if he had character issues in college. He was arrested, but if I remember right that wasn’t anything serious. I’m calling him an idiot based solely on the fact he drove into a police officer as well as Jackson’s vehicle multiple times to try and keep her from filing a report.

This doesn't have anything to do with nookie. He is a rich NFL player. He can get nookie anytime anywhere. See Travis Henry...ugly as they come and can't even name all of his kids and baby mamas. This is about an entitled punk that wasn't raised to have respect of anyone or anything. This is a control and power thing.
