Georgia athlete Dylan Haley has caught the attention of a number of programs since his junior season. He told us earlier this week the Vols are one of the programs also making him a priority. He was in Athens recently and the home-state program is also heavily involved. Tennessee checked in on him during the contact period, and he will look to get to Knoxville in the spring.

Can you elaborate? What do you mean by "overthinking"? What was the last defensive staff doing to overthink? Thanks.
Just taking the good players that maybe don't have this insane potential, but have very high floors. The problem with taking these prospects with high ceiling and very low floors is most of them don't hit as you saw on this year's defense. Tennessee has recruited a lot of good traits instead of a lot of good football players in general lately. They seemingly have changed that mindset some dating back to the end of last class and Knowles has immediately targeted guys like Butler, Haley, etc that are just good football players. They don't run a 4.4 with 6'3 frames and long arms but they project as good players so just take them.

Watching the CFP, Senior Bowl and Shrine loaded with guys that were on the board while all these projections they kept going for are not on the team anymore.

This is a general statement for both sides of the ball, not just defense. It's something that needed to change and it has been recently so that's an encouraging sign. Don't need to overthink players, find good players that fit what you want to do and land them

Looking back and 2/3 of the 2024 signing class is already gone

The Class of 2027 cornerback/athlete from Cherokee Bluff High School in Flowery Branch, Ga., told GoVols247 that he plans to visit the Vols again on March 23 or March 25 to see one of their spring practices. He said Tennessee "absolutely" will host him on one of his official visits, too, although he has yet to finalize any plans for an official visit with the Vols.
"Ever since they offered me, they have always made it a priority to stay in touch with me," said Haley, who has received offers from more than 15 schools. "When the staff change happened on defense, I didn't know what was going to happen. Coach Heupel was the one that kept the contact strong. He reached out to me and my family often to make sure I knew that they still wanted me and that I would still be a priority with the new staff coming in, and that's exactly how it went, and it been great building those relationships."
"Coach Knowles and Coach Poindexter have been two guys I talked to a lot, along with Coach Hunter before his announcement (last) week," Haley said. "Those coaches are bringing a great vision on that side of the ball that's exciting."
"The game-day atmosphere when I was there was one of a kind and something I left immediately wanting to come back to," he said. "I can't wait to get back on campus and building those relationships."
