Duke suing Mensah

I don’t have anything personally against the kid but damn enough is enough. You sign a multi year contract worth the most in the nation then try to slide out of it for more money the next season? Hopefully Duke wins but I doubt it.
Same as the guy at Washington.

Without actual contracts, shitheads will be free to be shitheads. It's not great.

Yeah, I think the first step to solving the current mess of Cfb is making contracts actually matter. If Duke ends up losing this case, it won’t be good for the sport at all.

As they stand, these “contracts” are as binding as a love letter a teenager sends the “love of his life”. If players are able to break their agreements and go wherever they want then things are probably going to get a lot worse.

Apparently things have been settled. Hopefully we'll eventually hear how much money it cost to get out of the contract.

Duke reaches settlement with quarterback Darian Mensah, who will transfer :: WRAL.com Duke reaches settlement with quarterback Darian Mensah, who will transfer
Reportedly a $5 million settlement, details mostly sealed. Case dismissed.

Duke apparently knew they couldn't keep Mensah and just wanted the money back. Mensah gets more money and gets to play for a much better team and party in South Beach.

I'm betting that Miami had some kind of other dirt in Duke and told them that if there was no settlement, it would be gloves off time. Either way, Duke loses.
