Might just blowing smoke, but I liked it regardless. He only wanted to play for the Vols in college.

Sounds like really bad turf toe to require surgery. If he has 6 months of recovery and hasn’t had surgery yet, I doubt he’ll play for us next season.

How quickly can someone get back in football shape after 6 months of recovery?

At that age pretty quickly. I’m sure he won’t be sitting around pounding little Debbie’s. The resources these kids have at these programs is top notch.

Consider that Zach Ragan and Lucas Panzica are the source of this info. Google “turf toe surgery recovery time”, it says 3-6 months. For a grade 3 (complete ligament tear). Do your research folks

I had surgery that is extremely similar to turf toe surgery. I suffered badly for about 15 years. My recovery from surgery was about 2 months to walk without a walking stick and 5 months to jog or run.

Joe Burrow had a grade 3 tear that required surgery on September 14. He came back Thanksgiving day.

What comes to my mind is the thought level it must’ve taken to compare a torn ACL which is normally av9-12 month recovery (sometimes career ending) to a turf toe injury which is a 3-6 month healing process and nowhere near the injury of a torn ACL. Are either of us doctors? Sure aren’t. But with any common sense we know those two comparisons are ridiculous.

The people who liked that post surely were casted for a new goonies production film.

So you’re saying the guy won’t play for us again because he needs a procedure that everything tells us takes 3-6 months to recover. Keep in mind it’s January and we don’t start until sept.

I’m the one saying all of the stats and medical information point to him playing again.

Yet I’m the one jumping to conclusions? lol. Either you have 0 thought process, don’t math well, are just looking to argue, or a combination of all three. Either way, you’re the one “assuming” against all of the information out there regarding this topic.

I don’t read a medical timeline as gospel. I hope the surgery, recovery, and rehab all go to plan. It doesn’t always.

I’m glad there’s a chance that he will play for us again, but in the meantime let’s just settle down.

Definitely no gospel when it comes to injuries. Given the timeline hopefully he is able to return with no issues.

What we do have going for us is he will want to return to improve draft stock I would imagine. Although given the McCoy incident you mentioned, who knows. We really don’t even know the starting situation since it was apparent we brought in a guy for that spot.

I just hope the recovery goes well. The body has to heal on its own.

If you’ve ever known anyone who had a bad recovery, it can become a disaster.
