Per DW “ I think we’re in a really strong place to get back to postseason competition and hopefully make a run in the Playoffs”

Per DW “Really excited about next season, knowing all that we’ve accomplished and are going to accomplish here in the closing days of the transfer portal”

Based on some of the nonsense I see posted here on a regular basis, I'd wager that DW knows a lot of things the average fan doesn't.
If he doesn't, we are in deep trouble. He has make a lot of decisions in the last month which will pay big dividends in the future.

About football? Likely not. About making money for the university through athletics? Probably so. That’s his job so I’d hope so. Prob currently thinking about how he can squeeze another couple dollars out of the 100K in attendance.

Translation: "Gosh I wish more folks on here would just accept the BS we get fed at pressers and stop looking at the roster and actually logically thinking things through"

This business isn't rocket science. Its management, logic, and people skills. I'd wager a LOT of folks on here are up to the job. The few that network, schmooze, and back into these multi million contracts are not by and large all that exceptional at anything other than politics and networking.

The bust rate on QBs is extremely high. How many 4 star QBs have we had in the last 20 years that couldn’t cut it?

Is it a bust rate under CJH though? Nico transferred like a moron before he could develop or be a bust. Merklinger transferred early in his career. Same with the Jackson kid. I think if a highly rated kid just stays and develops here, they will succeed.

Yup we literally just need a third QB to probably backup George/Faizon

But....wait....if Heupel is so wise as some feel, and GMac and Faizon are clearly the answer, why was he begging and pleading for Leavitt?

I love that thought process. If we completely blank out in the portal, it just shows how smart Heupel is and how he realizes how stacked we are. if he signs a portal QB, then clearly his brilliance saw we were woefully deficient at QB and he saved the say.

Heupel should be sending some of y'all checks for all the water you tote for him. Seriously.

Who said he was begging and pleading for him? Do you have evidence of this? We have two very talented QBs on the roster. They need reps. They need coaching. We could use an experienced 3rd QB for depth and to give another voice to the two we already have. I think if we were in as bad of shape at QB as some on here believe, we would have thrown the checkbook at another starter already and he would be signed. I am not saying Heupel doesn't want another guy to be here and compete, but to say we have no QB is flat wrong.

We have a QB. People have to stop pretending GMAc was a 2 star bum

100% this. GMac is 5* Caliber. Elite 11 QB. With a redshirt year under his belt. Faizon is the best HS QB in the nation in 2026 class. Is there gonna be a step back in the passing game next year starting a freshman? Sure. Probably similar numbers to Nicos. That experience and FBs year as a backup will set us up for a real playoff run in 2027.

We made the playoffs with Nicos mediocre passing game in 24...but had a great defense. Will our defense be SO much improved that it can carry us like the 24 defense did again in this year in 2026? I dont think so. We will be much improved but with a brutal 9game SEC slate AND GTech we are gonna lose some games. I think 8-4 is probably most realistic next season. We will be loaded in 27 though and make a playoff run in 27 and 28 probably.

People need to get behind GMac. Yesterday. He is a baller...and a lifelong Tennessean and rabid VOLS fan. Couldn't ask for a better guy to pull for than him IMO.

He's hoping like hell we do and I’m with him on that. One the flip side DW, you can't nearly double our season tix prices and go from the playoffs to not even ranked in the top 25 the following year. Another season like this past one and not only will Heupel's seat be hot, DW will be feeling the heat as well. I like DW and Heupel, but this is the reality of college football today.
