This is a guess, but it wouldn't surprise me if all the statements about us "tampering" with guys after Nico left bothered the hell out of DW. It's bad press. And I could see it making him take more control. Especially given what we know about his desire for secrecy.

The coaches obviously thinks he slings it so well that he was 3rd string behind a qb that was never going to start here.

And Peyton Manning was 3rd string behind Colquitt and Helton his true freshman season. Cut must have thought he really sucked.

Should see rush of commitments across the board due to school starting next week and players won’t have the leverage or time.
If I was in the portal I’d make an agreement for what campus I want to be on today or just start going over to work out with the HS players because half those portal’d wont have a team.
There’s a whole different topic of what happens to kids when they don’t have that team/support/coaching around them.
All this **** is just a breeding ground for bad decisions made for the wrong reasons and horrible habits formed.

What would it mess up? We’re not keeping Gmac and Faizon both in 2027. If Longstreet is a stud, then you get him for multiple years and have Faizon as backup. Pay them both nicely and let Faizon kill it after.

That all sounds good but there's no guarantee any QB will wait his time to start. As long as the portal is around, everything is a crap shoot.

Maybe someone should consider making the portal only available in even numbered years.

I disagree. Robinson should be our 5th DT imo along with the remainder of the young guys. (Robinson is really not a DT imo).

I also prefer we get bigger, older DTs. Appears we have been going after younger guys for some reason when we already have boatload of them on the roster.

Sounds like we will get 1 more DT but I wish we would sign 2 more.
