2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

Schools have to be involved now due to rev share. How much is it's own game. I am certain other schools deal with the same internal struggles non-sense we just air our laundry better than anyone else.
There are for sure schools with worst situations. Also schools with better. But let's not act like nil issues being aired out is just Tennessee. Florida, FSU come to mind.

Honest question

How in the world is he not a top tier priority or a team that lacked consistency at edge last season?

I’d guess bc he’s still pretty unproven. I’m sure his potential is unlimited and that’s what has everyone excited but it’s not like he’s a dude that’s put up stupid numbers already

Have DW or Heupel ever tried to generate NIL funds by making a plea to the fans? I know plenty of other coaches and ADs have, I just don't remember ours doing so. If they haven't, and money IS an issue, then why haven't they?

You think that’d go over well with how much everyone complains about prices for UT athletics going up?

I said I would take the draft in terms of percentages… And I did say that the head coaches trip to Martin was set up a weeks ago… And had nothing to do with it… But yes, in my opinion, Ty is done at Alabama and if he goes in the portal and doesn’t go pro, then I would definitely like Tennessee’s chances vs others.

He was a priority for us. If reports are accurate we were offering more. He wants to be at OSU and now they have to raise their offer to get him and they are willing. There is always a limit to this stuff. That's what all the experts have been trying to explain.

If the talent drop-off is that significant at the DT spot within the portal, gotta go all in on our top targets.

If they want to go somewhere else make it be because they like the way the sunset in that particular city or the air quality, something unique. Not bc of money for THAT position.

You can't expect people to pay those raised prices if you're only putting a mediocre product on the field.

So you agree it wouldn’t to over well if DW or Heup begged for money.

And if fans expect 10-2 every year bc it costs more to go to games then they’re high. But we both know they were complaining last year when we actually did go 10-2 and made the playoff so no, the product isn’t the reason people complain.

They complain bc it’s more money. Period.
