2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

He is what he is, and I think that is better than most options for us. The read on Simson is that he has slipped to the 3/4 QB due to poor decision making. That's still first round money, and it'll be very hard to pass up. That kid is still dreamy about wearing Orange, but he's been told we need to know by midweek. I think the smart money says he'll declare, but there is still a glimmer.
Sorry if this has already been asked, but what do you think happens if Ty says he wants in by midweek and then later this week joey gets cleared for another season?

Mixed feelings about this, honestly.

Hope he can make that year 2 jump. He definitely started the year stronger than he finished it.
Same for me. Lots of folks love the story and allow it to cloud their judgement of his actual play, but I will concede that there is reason to believe he could really improve with a second year in the system and a proper offseason. I'm pretty ambivalent to his return. I can get on board with it as easily as I can support us trying to upgrade. Him returning is better than us rolling with two freshmen and just a warm body, so if that is what we end up doing, I will be satisfied.

Defensive staff thinks they will close 2 today. More visits will be getting announced soon including a couple new (or at least less talked about) targets on DL.

Vols really want & expect to land 2 out of White, West, & Harris. They do have a couple plan B options as well. As SF said now to Wed is huge to land some guys on top of their boards. By Wed/Thurs spots will either be getting limited or the staff is having to pivot to Plan B options. Staff feels DL, especially DT is where you have a real talent gap from their primary targets to Plan B options

Elliot Washington committed to Clemson so take him off the DB board, if he was even still on it.

Give me Joey back with over a year of experience in the system, a 30-40 ranked defense (instead of 90), a new s&c coach who works them hard and we’re in the 2026 playoffs with a playoff game in Neyland Stadium..
So I should reserve that weekend on my calendar?

There’s huge desire from every faction of boosters, staff etc for Ty to play here. On the off chance he opts out of draft, an army of money will appear.

I saw this video a few days ago and the guy says some things that make sense. It's a fairly short video and won't take much of your time.

So he led the SEC in passing and was impeded by a tumor in his arm. Holy crap. The video makes it seem like it was his throwing arm.

It does speak to his leadership that it was never leaked. What a gamer

We can only hope. Talk about massive upgrade at QB and some serious momentum if we came out of this cycle going from Joey to Ty.

Wow. I mean if Chambliss was to get a 6th year, I can’t imagine they’d deny Joey. This would be great news, although part of me would have liked to see what Ty Simpson could look like in this offense.

Heupel hasn’t had a returning starting QB since Hooker. I don’t count Milton.

The leap that Hooker made from 2021 to 2022 was quite substantial even after a really good 2021 campaign. I feel that Aguilar with his experience and a year in our system, he could have a huge 2026, if the 6th year is granted.

Before the portal I had just one person on ignore, now, too many to count.

Does anyone have any info on S&C coach? Maybe we’re targeting someone who’s still playing..
was wondering the same thing. Makes me wonder if we are targeting a S&C coach that is still in the playoffs.

I think Elliot falls into the same category as a handful of PSU guys: Fisher, Wylie, Nelson, Woseley.....I think there are probably a couple more.

These are guys that if they are willing follow JK and fill roles at right NIL amount then the staff would love to have them but they fall somewhere between contributor to depth piece. All guys that are good character guys and would all help in some way but aren't high targets. Staff beleives when everything settles at least a couple of those guys end up at UT

I don’t put THOSE GUYS on ignore, but realize I am risking repetitive eye roll damage. The OMG you can’t be serious ratio is definitely up, sometimes referred to as Napoleonic complex.
