2025/26 Transfer Portal Thread

I've mentioned the QB thing several times. Nico, GMac, and now Brandon. If you're going to pay these guys millions to come here, they need to be ready in Year 2 to play and lead this team. You can't pay that much and then be okay hoping he finally is ready in Year 3. Heupel is supposed to be a QB guru, yet I don't feel like we're seeing that on the field.
Getting Aguilar ready in ~100~ days wasn’t impressive enough for you?

I expect us to be able to find a qb in the portal without too much effort. I realize it’s all NIL nowadays, but we’re usually at least competitive in that regard. On the field, we have a lot of factors in our favor. Qb friendly offense, returning OL, playmakers at WR and TE and a solid running game. If there’s a one year guy out there that prioritizes getting a bump in his NFL draft stock, you’d think Tennessee would check all the boxes.

Did Aguilar really get better or just play to the same level he's previously played to? They taught him the offense, they didn't actually "develop" him. The two aren't the same thing.

You can't base it off 1 game. McClain is an elite safety and would be a huge upgrade over anything we've had here.
He would be an UPGRADE. Not arguing that. But in no stretch is he elite. I have watched him multiple times but last night decided it for me.

He’s better than Turrentine, but not Nigel Warrior.

Would love to add him, and let him play with little bro, but we absolutely should NOT throw a bunch of money at him

Hell i hope so. With a kicker we are in this 12 team tourney even with a bad defense.
We had no business being in the CFP, missed FG or not. We would have been embarrassed by some team on the road again. Hell, if we had made the CFP, we'd probably still be stuck with Banks. I'd gladly sacrifice this season for that and to motivate Heupel,White and the Donors.

No matter how physically gifted a QB is, if they don't have it between the ears it doesn't matter. Exactwhy it's impossible to evaluate 18 year old teenagers at QB. You have no clue how they handle adversity and transition to being away from home. Many 5* QB's have done nothing. Not a job I'd want.

Louisville running back Isaac Brown has announced he will enter the transfer portal on Friday with a do-not-contact tag on his entry. The do-not-contact is typically put on an entry when a player has a good idea of where they will land.
Sources have told On3 throughout Friday morning that Texas is an early school to watch in this portal recruitment. The Longhorns are losing running backs Jerrick Gibson, CJ Baxter, Tre Wisner and Rickey Stewart Jr.
The current expectation is that Texas will evaluate the market and look into taking multiple running backs, sources have told On3. Brown was the 2024 ACC Rookie of the Year and has rushed for 2,057 yards and 18 touchdowns in two seasons with the Cardinals.
He’s widely viewed as one of the top returning running backs in the nation and will be one of the most sought-after players in the transfer portal. Brown ranks as On3’s No. 2 overall player set to enter the transfer portal and the top running back.
Brown is represented by Richard Bailey of Control Of The Market LLC. He earned third-team All-ACC honors in 2025, following a breakout 2024 season. The 5-foot-9, 190-pound running back rushed for 1,527 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. Brown is a Miami native and a former three-star recruit.
Brown missed four games in November this season due to a lower leg injury. He returned for the Boca Raton Bowl against Toledo, rushing for 102 yards and two touchdowns on just 10 carries in a 27-22 win.
