You're asking why it matters that our RB coach struggled to pull a low ranked RB from his own state?

The rb coach got here in Morris senior year and flipped him from USC. Morris was the 2nd ranked rb in the state as well.

Even if that were true, it again doesn't address the fact that the was from TN. We didn't even turn on attention to him till late in the process.

And no, I certainly didn't see the top end talent he has in the 30 carries he had between ETSU, UF, UAB where he averaged barely 4 yards a carry.

That's how you recruit. They wanted others first and kept Morris in the fold as a local guy. Then, when the others went elsewhere, they got Morris.

I don't really care much about the ranking when he was committed to USC and had officially visited Auburn. Had offers from several other SEC schools as well.

According to a source, Florida has strong interest in Kansas safety Lyrik Rawls, a 6-foot-1, 205-pound safety who finished the 2025 season with 72 tackles (56 solo), seven pass deflections and one interception. He has one guaranteed season of eligibility for 2026 and the potential for a second if a medical redshirt from 2023 is approved.

The same source close to Rawls’ situation said his top schools heading into the portal are Florida, Tennessee, Penn State, Ole Miss and Clemson.

I personally think Leavitt looks like a good pickup but we probably only need someone for 1 year or a good player that only expects to compete for the job but is not a guaranteed starter.
