His saving grace is he still had a very solid year as a redshirt freshman. Better second year than the majority of second year receivers we have had here lately. I have good faith he'll get even better. He had a lot of drops and had opportunities to make some big plays in several games but failed to go get the ball.
That’s what he should be thinking.I don't see why we can't do both. If a guy really likes it here and what we are offering, then it isn't impossible to keep them on hold as we wait a couple weeks.
Unless the dude is like "well you should want me now!"
Depends on what qualifies as a huge raise. They both could be 1000 yard receivers next year with brazzell leaving.
Thats how you have to approach it. We cant sit back and just assume/hope he wins his case and miss out on someone in the portal. Hoping they hear something soon though just for JA's sake.Staff's approaching it like he won't be back. Obviously would love to have him back, but tough to know with these type of things.
I like the size of Edwin Joseph, if he has speed, would be a big pickupI would like Christian Harrison back. We know that would sure up the star position. Nice for continuity too.
The only thing with the corners is...we have two good starters already in Gibson and Redmond, so I'm not sure how it works if you bring in corners that have been starting. Unless they can play safety.
Ty Simpson would he pretty incredible and I'd forgive him of being a traitor to the state, since it would be so hilarious if he smoked a cigar in orange.
I'd be surprised if we get a WR. Stayley and Matthews are studs and everyone loves Jackson and Smith. Dodson, Jefferson and then the freshmen. No point in spending there.
Hood returning would be hugeBasilio (huge grade of slaw, obviously) says Colton Hood has seen his value tank from where it was early on in the season, and he is getting day 3 grades from NFL feedback people. Allegedly, many at Tennessee now expect him to return to school with an obvious pay bump.
IF true, I think it is huge to have Hood, Gibson, and Redmond at the CB and Nickel positions in Knowles's defense. Great head start with some guys with major frontline experience in the secondary.
I had seen Hood in one mock draft just in the last week as a late 1st rounder, so not sure how accurate Basilio's info is, or if the ESPN guys are just way off operating with old information.
