The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

I have intel indicating that there will be a Timney 3.5 trigger for my G21 on Christmas morning. Once it's installed, a range report will follow.

I'm assuming none of you care about the standard "socks and underwear" gifts, so I'll stick to the trigger.

So I ended up picking this up last Friday. I ended up having to go to Academy to get it. I will spare y'all the long story but I will not be going to Sportsman's to purchase a firearm again. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but I will report back when I do.

I was going to say "nice clean shot," as I assume the gun is over the entry wound.
Entry is on the other side, just behind the shoulder. Got a little more damage to shoulder meat than I should have, but I didn't want him jumping the fenceline onto another property and having to try to get the landowner permission to go get him, so I took a bit more shoulder meat to make sure he couldn't run far.

He dropped, got up, down about 10 yards where he fought his was up and and drug his left side for about 8 more yards before he fell without another twitch. He was a big boy for my area. About 200lbs at the end of the rut, he probably started 240-250 a month ago. I shot a 226lb 8 point a few years ago, but that was on opening day in mid-November. I suspect this one was bigger at the start of the rut.

The projectile was recovered on his right side. That's why there is no exit on the side you see. .30-.30 at about 70 yards. Stayed in him. He was thick.

My boy, currently at Shepherd Center recovering from his TBI wreck this summer, had zeroed this rifle in for me in the springtime. I made sure his mother showed him the pics and gave him credit. The entry wound was about 1/4 inch from where I thought I was aiming. That boy was always a better shot than me. Can't wait to get out in the woods with him this next fall.

Good story, some great stories to come with your young man!
Thru the grace of our Savior Jesus Christ, great Drs. And staff at the Shepherd Center
My son turned 17 in its ICU from a car wreck TBI. Spent 163 days in the Bain unit under the care of Dr. D. Leslie in 2004, lots of hard work for all the family, my son is my Hero.
Went into Shepherd a mess, came out a new young man, not a clue he was hurt.
Shepherd Center is the BEST, God is Good

It is a place where miracles happen, for sure.
We will have 225 days in when we come home next month. Longest 7 months of our lives, yet it has also gone so fast. Time is funny. He will turn 18 at Shepherd.

The boy took his first unassisted steps yesterday. (He had a walker, but no human assistance.)

Glad your child did so well, and prayers for continued good health.
