If one were to step back from the emotional side of things for a moment, and look at this through a neutral lens...
Diego Pavia is the best thing to happen to Vanderbilt football since....well, ever.
Which in and of itself is a damning indictment as to what a pathetic excuse for an SEC football team Vandy actually is.
They had a great year. Probably their best ever. Clark Lea may be the best coach they have ever had. Just signed a 5* QB. Vandy's stock is rising. NIL has changed everything. We live in a new, dynamic world in college football. Former cellar dwellers (Indiana, Vandy) are the hot new prospects. The old guard (Texas, PSU, Clemson) are now relegated to bowl games that their fans would turn their nose up at 2 years ago.
Welcome to the revolution.
Back to Vandy. Good coach. Stock rising. But they play in the same SEC as every other SEC team. Their days of 3-9 may be over, but their days of 10-2 are also over.
Pavia's 15 months of fame are likewise over. He's trash, and trash eventually always ends up in the same place. The trash heap.
Go Vols.
