Someone else posted as him being a name to watch. He may just love where he’s at and that’s fine because it’s a rarity these days, BUT ….if he were to enter the portal, you gotta try to land him.

Unless Dabo leaves Clemson, Sammy Brown won’t transfer. I know the family and they love Dabo. Brown is very happy there from everything I’ve heard. Trust me, I’d love to see him at Tennessee but it’s wishful thinking.

We expect Tennessee to go hard on defense in the portal with the defensive line and secondary expected to get plenty of attention. With the likely loss of Arion Carter, we expect Tennessee to look at maybe taking a linebacker.

On the offensive side, Tennessee will be in the market for a quarterback but the question becomes will it be a readymade starter or just a depth piece. We also expect Tennessee to add a running back.

Most positions and the numbers will be based on roster retention and how that goes over the next few weeks.

Defense is certainly imperative. We need a nickel, two safeties, two DTs, and maybe a LB. I think we are fine at LB with Spillman, Pelotte, Telander, Harmon, plus the freshman.

I think it'll be hard to go into next season with just GMac and Faizon, assuming Merk leaves. RB would seem fine to me if Lewis stays. Bishop, Lewis, and Morris feel like a good trio. Baker could contribute as well.

I wonder if we could talk Ty Simpson into coming home for a season depending on if DeBoer leaves.

Then you have the rumors that he may have a back injury and I’ve seen articles saying he should return to college for another season.

Would be a nice one year rental and transition into Faizon.

I think it could be an easy sell, come home and play with the two of the best receivers in the country, a top RB and a top OL.

Lb Would be an interesting add. Obviously Carter leaving frees up snaps but I think the 4 man of Perlotte, Spillman, Harmon, Tealander is solid with the 2 Freshman waiting in the wings and Jordan burns as kind of the stop gap between the 2 group. Ig maybe it’s to help install the Knowles defense but that would be a weird spot to add barring more Leaving IMO

Honestly, Telander is a terrible linebacker. Pretty good football player, but not a linebacker.

So, apparently one of the Vol Club guys on the Tennessee discord board my son is a member of, alluded yesterday that the plan would be for a starter?

His stance was that GMac and his camp are comfortable and knew what the plan was for his first 2 years...?

Explain? A QB from a lower level that does not have the big schools beating down his door would love the opportunity to go to a big time SEC school and know that he is only competing with a RSFr and Fr at the position. Knowing that he could fall into the job or would certainly be able to end up with the job in the case of an injury.

We need a dual threat ready to start. This offense can’t run at its full potential without Qb extending drives with his legs and keeping teams honest on rpo imo. We would need to trim our playbook with Gmac with no qb rpo keeps and goalline qb power we ran well this year.

Aguilar ran for 104 yds this year and only 3 TDs.

That's what I would do. Having seen this offense for five years, I do not want a freshman or RS freshman running the show if it can be avoided. And if you're going to the portal, might as well go big and get someone good and not a scrub for depth.

a depth piece means a guy you don't think can start. Guys want to play, that's why they are in the portal.
