Message boards at Auburn are saying Pope is their number 1 target for WR coach and they think he will listen. I realize it’s just message boards but their On3 insider confirmed he’s a target.

Anyone else hearing anything on this?

Heupel is not going to take too kindly if Golesh is trying to actively poach his current, productive coaches. The Banks hire is also somewhat of a head-scratcher.

Just looked at their 247 and on3 board. Didn’t see Pope mentioned on either site.

If you look at their “few things I heard- staff edition” on on3 there is a lot of pope lust on that one.

He’s about to have lost 50% of his class and one of the remaining two is from Knoxville.Obviously props for helping to land Keys. Last years WRs couldn’t get much separation and the recruiting class was mid. Pope basically pulled the reverse Banks this year, and probably had some help from Jones and Littrell throwing in some wrinkles. Happy to have him and hope we keep him, but there shouldn’t be a bidding war.

We will have the most talented starting 3WRs next year in the country...a pair of 5*s and Staley who just won SEC freshman of the year...

We will also have the most talented WR room in the nation next year if everyone stays...without Bey.

Thats an incredible WR room. All 3 starters next year will be NFL WRs. All 3 of our WRs in 2025 broke 700yds for the first time ever and finished top10 in the SEC. Brazzell broke 1000 and was the best WR in the SEC.

Pope is the hottest WR coach in the country now that OSU lost theirs. Everybody and their mama wants him. You may not personally like him, and thats OK, but objectively he is the most sought after WR coach in the nation.
