Hope we show them the ā€œrealā€ UT!
I think we should wear alternate uniforms with a helmet that has the interlocking UT on one side and the rifleman (Crockett) logo on the other. Jerseys should have "1794" in large block orange numerals on the front. Remind them who their daddy is.

We can tell all of their fans just like I used to when I lived in Austin:

"Tennessee was a university before Texas was a state". 1794 vs 1845. Not exactly true as UT started as Blount College in 1794 and later became UT in 1879.

After all the whining Sarkisian has done about not being in the playoffs (you're not being punished for scheduling Ohio State, dumbass. You're being punished for losing to Florida. If you would have beat them, you'd be in.) I'm really looking forward to that game. I hope we hang half a hundred on them.

I lived in Texas for 10 years. A lot of Texas football fans know about the role of Tennesseans in Texas history, especially those who talk that "real UT" nonsense to Vol fans in Texas. I saw Coach Barnes Texas team lose to Tennessee in Austin as well as Pat's teams win several times in Austin. And if anyone goes to the Alamo, it is quite obvious by by the commemorative list of defenders who died there and identified by state. Many other Tennesseans figure prominently such as Sam Houston, a member of Congress and governor of Tennessee before going to Texas. He lead the victory at San Jacinto, the deciding battle in the war for Texas independence as well as the first president of the Republic of Texas and later US Senator from Texas. Houston was a protege of Andrew Jackson as well as James Polk, both presidents elected from Tennessee and who supported Texas to become part of the United States. Both my children went to high school in Texas prior to going to UTK and Texas schools had, and may still have, Texas history as a mandatory course. Came in handy for those "Real UT discussions".
