Oh no doubt. If it’s not Jim Knowles or Matt Patricia, some Vol fans are gonna whine and complain.Just from reading most of the posts about Banks, I believe 90% of the people in here are gonna sh*t little green turds when our next DC is named.
Gotta love our keyboard coaches and their knowledge of all things related to any sport
2020 was a wash with most teams with the Covid opt-outs.These are the rankings of points allowed for his teams as DC
2022 Illinois: 1st
2021 Illinois: 29th
2020 Missouri: 85th
2019 Missouri: 16th
2018 Missouri: 50th
While his defenses have struggled some years, you can’t completely ignore the good seasons he’s had.

Yeap im sure. I havent followed him. But I looked up every team defense ranking that he was apart of. Missouri defense was not steady and the #1 ranking is the outlier. I believe Washington was 22nd this year. Which is good but they are playing some bad offenses and still have solid talent from the championship run I would assume. You sure you're looking up the right guy? lol...context is everything
His Illinois defense was the #1 scoring defense nationally in 2022
They were #114 initially in total defense before he took over, and the next year were #49 (#29 scoring defense).
His Missouri defenses saw the same sort of improvement.
He didn't pan out as Purdue's HC but he can coach a defense.

But man can Robinson recruit. Look at his former commits on 247. Nothing but 4 and 5 stars and former great players.Tim Banks had the same role at Penn State that Robinson does at Georgia.
I will take a guy who has a proven track record of being a defensive coordinator calling plays, rather than someone who has loads of potential
