OU beat Bama. Why would I object to them being in over Bama? How do you feel good about putting in other conference teams that have the same record pre-CG but aren’t good enough to make the CG like an OU?
It doesn’t make sense.
Can’t punish the CG loser and move them out of the playoff. Basically Bama would’ve been better if they didn’t make the game? That’s silly.

So you think the SEC and Big 10 should be exempt from championship games mattering? Because they seem to matter for every other conference. Ohio State should have at least dropped to the 4 seed for losing. But it didn't happen. Bama should have been dropped out. CCGs matter in every conference except for the SEC and the Big 10. That's politics.
Who wins the title this year?
I think it’s one of these three:
UGA
OSU
Indiana
My guess is UGA. That team has grown up the last half of the year and they are dominant.
Punishing them for getting blown out, for having 3 losses, and for having worse losses.Bc the fact remains Bama would’ve been in had they not made the CG.
So you’re punishing them for making the game and losing when they could’ve not qualified for the game and been safely in (according to the rankings the week prior).
May not be a popular opinion, but the CFP should consist of only P4 teams. Let the Group of 5 or 6 have their own playoffs. And no independents. If ND wants to play in our sandbox, join a conference.Notre Dame could join the AAC and make the CFP every year as highest ranked Group of 5, people would still piss and moan...
It’s just mental gymnastics to say he hates Alabama. Yetis don’t make sense as they haven’t fully evolved. I love the guy because he hates Alabama and that I can understand. How do you feel good about putting in other conference teams that have the same record pre-CG but aren’t good enough to make the CG like an OU?

If Heup decides he needs to go, we can’t live in our fears. Time to move on to the candidate he feels can get the job done.As I've stated earlier, I'm not pro or anti Banks. Here are my concerns with replacing him.
Who are we replacing him with, we have some challenges.
There are some very good coaches on this staff I would hate to lose
There will inevitably be turnover with some players.
You bring up a lot of good points that I agree with. I would add injuries, inexperience, and turnover. This team not only is young, this has been a year of turmoil. It's like when daddy dies and the fourteen year-old has to take over the farm. This year is the exact opposite of last year. Last year we had to tip toe around the offense and we turned the d loose. This year we had to baby thed and cut loose the offense. It is an overall mentality kinda thing in my eyes. They don’t play aggressive football on the side of the ball that counts. How many times have you seen offensive players gain positive yardage after initial contact. How many times have we seen defensive backs run up and try to roll under the legs of a receiver or RB only to have the individual gain 10+ yards. How many bad pursuit angles have we seen in every game. How many times have we been caught in soft coverage on critical downs and how many times have we seen LB’s blocked down on because of poor positioning. How often has our Defensive line been caught trying to hold up and control their opponents instead of shedding the block and pursuing the ball and how many times did we get called for offsides because of lining up in the neutral zone.
I am not a coach, I did play some ball and all of these things I mentioned are basic fundamentals that are coached and planned for in games. The basics of coaching have given way to a passive mindset that in the long run will get you beat more times than not against quality opponents. Can these be changed ? Absolutely but is the current staff capable of making those changes ? Maybe but to this point I haven’t seen them show the willingness to do so.
