With college football resembling more of a business these days, how would you allot UT's NIL percentage-wise by position?

QB- 15% - If Joey comes back next year, we probably lose Merk. So assume JA, GMac, and Faizon. Need elite talent stacked here.

RB- 4% - Heup's system makes avg RBs look good. No need to spend big here.

WRs/TEs- 9% - spend decent on WR1, but again, Heup's system makes avg pass catchers look good.

OL- 18% - always need the best you can get here.

Offense- 46% - Heup's system saves us some percentage points here because we don't need 5 stars at every position.

Edge- 15% - Huge need in today's game

CB- 15% - same as above

DL- 10% - these guys keep the LBs clean

LB- 8% - just get some good athletes behind the DL.

S- 6% - Don't get beat deep, but the investment in CBs lowers the need for elite players here.

Defense- 54% - If our D could come close to being as good as our O, we're a playoff lock going forward.

What are your thoughts?

You give the QB 15%. You give the OL 18%... the OL is split between 8 guys (conservatively) that's 2.25% each. If the NIN bucket is $1M, that's $150,000 to the QB and $22,500 to the OL.

That's why this is all so ****ed up.

That 15% for qbs is divided between 3-4 guys. For next year Aguilar would get a decent percentage for being the starter and Faizon gets a good bit as the future. GMac gets less and a fourth arm for practice gets a minimal amount.

For a $20 million NIL budget, 15% means QBs are splitting $3 million. That's not a lot to keep guys happy in today's world.

OL- would be $3.6 million with starters taking 2.7-2.8 of that. Backups split the remainder.

How would you do the percentages based on a $20 mil budget?
