Honestly i think Banks could manage if we hired a better DB coach..if they don’t want to make big move like a DC position.

The entire senior class? Not happening. But it’s not just the seniors. Most of these kids only have so many games and they deserve the chance to play in them.

Not all seniors/players play and I don't disagree. I think more teams will do what ND did whether they are playoff bound or not. I'd say even 5 or 6 win teams might start doing it more. It's definitely a benefit for a new roster to get the extra spring practices.

I'm looking forward to watching GM throwing to some of our younger WRs and TEs. That is, if Heupel lets him play. Hopefully a bit of a preview of next season.

Notre Dame should've played Vanderbilt in French Polynesia to determine the last playoff spot.

I think they tried but ND said they need 3 days to get ready.

IF TN opted out of the bowl game, they would get 15 extra practices in the spring.....see post #82,813

I see TN has NOTHING to gain in playing in this bowl, even if they win it.

If TN lays an egg and get thumped by ILL the optics look real bad.

Or. You let players like William Wright don the orange one more time.

As I think Banks is a good person there is no way we need to keep him as d coordinator. DBs were as good as they could be this year don’t blame Martinez as much as Banks as since he has been here cha anyone name me a Safety that Bama or GA or Ohio State would even want. This is also the position that Banks coaches As I understand we all have right to our opinion Banks is not cutting not even close

I think Carter is definitely leaning toward leaving right now. Heard has interest in returning, but that one is tricky because he and David Sanders both want to play left tackle. I don’t think Sanders wants to wait until 2027

This is part of the reason that these teams are bad. I will also say though, that it illustrates a need to evaluate the ongoing continuation of many of these lower-tier bowl games. Teams that are 5-7 have no business ever being invited to a bowl game.
