Cade was missing practice last week with the flu.

So these last 4 have shown an impact for him. Both in not quite being 100% & the practice he missed.

they just look lost at times

They look like a team that isn't used to playing together....... Which is the case. But they also don't have anything elite at any position, nothing to fall back on offensively save rebounding.

Gillespie has shown he can't breakdown good to very good defenders. He doesn't dribble penetrate effectively. I miss Ziggy though Gillespie is better from the outside. Ziggy was a better creator assist man

Ament is a freshman who's not translated to the next level yet. He needs to figure out his game at this level, he's not fast or physical enough to play the way he tries to right now.

Those are the guys we were really counting on and it hasn't worked out. Maybe it comes together but this is a long season and it doesn't get easier.

I think these early tough road games; Houston, Kansas, Syracuse, Illinois will pay dividends, particularly when it appears the SEC is a bit down this year. Plus Ament will get bigger and better by March…

I would be completely on board but the SEC is physical and we haven't handled physicality well at all this season.

We will. I’ve just seen it before both ways, we do great in these early months and don’t even make the sweet 16. I for one am actually glad we haven’t even come close to peaking, still have a very quality win. The team has the highest ceiling as any Rick Barnes team. Just isn’t worth getting too high or low in this sport in December.

Agree. I do hope this is us just figuring it out. And that we will gel later and play better.

The shooting and defense are a real concern though.

The shooting and defense are a real concern though.

Also people need to realize Illinois and Kansas are Elite 8 caliber teams. People want to be down on Kansas, but they’re going to be really good. The Cuse loss ain’t great, I don’t think they’re very good but it’s a road game early in the season so whatever. I can forgive it.

As far as tonight, just gotta make shots. That simple. We out rebounded them by a good margin.

Yes, with JMU being ranked in the Top 25 now they would get in if Duke wins.
