Legend Bey

coerced ?? That’s makes no sense, any player can leave anytime they want to , they have all the power. U people would blame Heupel for the rain
why would we accept his letter of intent if he doesn't want to be here? did any of the coaches talk to him before he sent in his paperwork?

No one wants Heupel to work out more than I do, but the constant drama and apparent personnel mismanagement is getting tiresome. If he was being coerced by a parent to sign with Tennessee, he should not have been accepted as part of the class by our coaches.

Let the kid go. Any $$ we gave him should be returned. This is the real world so it will get drawn out.

Any $$ we MAY have given him should be returned.

After reviewing all the posts on this thread about all is I see is conjecture as related to the events of the past 24 hours .........a lot of "ifs","buts", "mays" and "mights."

Maybe Bey should call Kiffin for advice. Maybe we should send a group of students to OSU to show them how to burn mattresses. This is a huge ploy. Bey probably got pissed at the thoughts Hartline told him. Bey might follow him to USF or Hartline may have told Bey to not come to OSU because he is leaving and anything is up for grabs once he is gone.
Bottom Line: Kids don't handle change well.

Every school has this. You just follow this school. As do I.

Actually, he's still 17 and couldn't sign the LOI without his Mom. By his social media (many deleted,) his Mom wouldn't sign for him to go to Ohio State.

According to him, he "didn't want to disappoint his Mom" so he signed with UT like she wanted him to do.

Now he regrets it. That's coerced.

How do you know this? What facts do you have? Again this is not Heupel's drama until it is. Right now it is not. A big "if" there. What "if" mom/brother wanted him to go to tOSU and he went with TN.

So my impression from the OSU Media bubble here in Columbus is that this whole narrative about his mom signing the LOI against his wishes is BS. A narrative invented by some of the Buckeye online influencers to cope with losing Legend and Henry pushing his decision back. It should go away now that Henry has signed with them.

His 18th birthday was in 3 weeks. He could have held out unitl he was 18. He wasn't the only one OSU had flip today after the announcement. Besides "Pressuring" could be as simple as "The guy you really liked at OSU is gone and you're not guaranteed the guy that takes his place shares his vision."
Is it true that to enroll early he had to sign on signing day? Hence why he couldn’t wait? I just now started reading about this situation. Hope we don’t end up with someone who doesn’t want to be here. I’m sure the coaches are on top of this and would tell him the same.

Again, I'm gonna put money on mom signing the papers and sending them in. Everything points in that direction and makes sense.

I can't believe they would keep him if he wants out. That's nuts for the locker room.

I tried to find out and I THINK he could've signed later and still enrolled early. Apparently the big deal is getting out of HS early so you can get in school but you can sign the LOI on up into Feb, at least I read that somewhere, and still enroll early. I'm not 100% sure.

So you think the buckeyes have been logging on to his social media and writing that his Mom wanted him to go to UT then deleting those messages? Seriously?

I don’t think you immediately release a kid that says “I wanna change”. Seems there’s been to many rushed decisions already. You shouldn’t make it easy to let other people erase their mistakes. They or others will continue to do the same thing. I think you should let it play out as there is a simple way for this all to work out, in time whichever way Bey wants it to.

3 weeks is all he'd have to wait lol (until he is 18). The coercion story is weak.

My original thought was that he HAD to sign or not be able to early enroll. Since that doesn't seem to be the case, that story relies on "not wanting to disappoint Mom, so I signed" which is weaker....... but he's 17.

I've seen pics that his "booth" at his HS for signing day was all Ohio State stuff with a pic of him in front of that booth. That's odd.

Again, for 3 weeks.

It's arguably life changing money, WGAF what mom wants*?

*I get it, he's a "kid,", but come on. It's a odd situation.

There are coaching changes at OSU - maybe Mom understood better than the 17-year-old what that could mean.

I get it, sometimes parents are all about the wrong things - but some are not and recognize what a 17-year-old may not.

It's definitely odd and I don't use X or Instagram but I'm told he has a ton of orange there, but that it's changed back and forth.

Knoxville radio media should put out a standing invitation for him to come on, do an interview, say his piece no matter how it falls. As far as I know, no one has an interview from Columbus media either.

He could clear this up with a phone call or two but he hasn't.

I don't agree with the thought of media drilling a 17 year old. I just don't.

Coerced no. You can't coerce your own children. It is just a flat out "no" Not going to happen. A parent coercing a child is not the way it is done. Besides Momma knows best. I doubt this subject came up on signing day. It was probably discussed weeks before signing day. Not the day of his commitment. Bey's statement was probably stated to quell the tOS masses and backlash on his IG account. I would not be surprise if TX came into the mix at some point.
