Honestly, until Spring Camp the way the portal is setup I don't trust anyone is here until Spring Camp. And Boo/Nico showed us that wasn't even a guarantee.

Although now the window is only open in January, unless a coaching change occurs.

Now that is what frustrates me about life in general, especially with polarization in politics. There is no middle ground. As for our coaching staff, we have 5 years of information to draw some conclusions. One conclusion I would make is that our defense has been too inconcistent and often allows too many points. That does make me suspect about Banks in that he leads the defense. I would say the same thing about our offense but I like the changes that happened going in to this year. Offense was horrific with Milton and then Nico last year. But, the tweaks worked in terms of upping production.

Long story short, I do feel that coaching changes are warranted after a dissapointing year and the ups and downs over the five years. Now go get Wilcox for D coordinator. 😅

He had one year that he was decent. It was when he was 10 deep in the D line with really good players. I pulled the stats the other day and his defense in about every category was equivalent with his year one. The guy is not a good D coordinator. If Josh keeps him, he will be the reason he fails here. Good thing is the scuttlebutt seems to indicate he's not happy with him and the indication is he won't be here next year.

My theory is a very real "for cause" event was discovered. (look at previous James Franklin scandals etc.) both parties agreed to simply firing him mid-season and let things be what they were going to be.

Why I think this theory is legit, James Franklin very quickly took a well paying P4 job at VA Tech which will mitigate a TON of his buyout owed by Penn State.

If you look at Brian Kelly's firing, and even Lane Kiffin leaving Ole Miss...usually a HC or the previous school is bitter and they make that obvious with how they handle the aftermath.

But at Penn State neither school or Franklin have really been at odds...so I believe something happened neither want out because it will have a negative impact on both.

I think their next HC is coaching somewhere this weekend...(even if a coordinator) and they're simply allowing him to finish up because they knew who they wanted and all the other names floating about are happening as smoke or to get those guys more money by their agents elsewhere.

IF this were true they would not have gone after Sitake as hard as they did. Their AD flew to Provo and met with him. The AD then flew back to PSU believing Sitake was coming after the Big 12 game this weekend. PSU started leaking word of Sitake to prepare their fanbase. BYU stepped up and the rest is history. PSU AD screwed up big time.

Keys is legitimately the best WR in the country and King is a stud. If they want to address WR, they’ll do it in the portal.

Always something to cry about.
