'26 VA RB Savion Hiter (Michigan commit)

Here was the Michigan mod posts the last hour:

"Both Steve Wiltfong and I are checking in on the Savion Hiter situation. I have not heard back from his mentor regarding the situation. Both Steve and I are checking with program sources as well. Not much beyond that. Don't want to speculate too much. I'll update y'all when I can. I'm in a Starbucks parking lot using their wi-fi while I wait for my phone to be repaired. As soon as I get it back (apparently only 25 min left), I will make as many calls as possible."

Just now:

"Both National Analyst Steve Wiltfong and I are hearing that Hiter will be done with the process by tomorrow.

I’ve done as much digging as possible and believe that Michigan will keep Hiter in the fold. Right now, I don’t see Hiter signing elsewhere.

I reached out to Hiter’s father who told me that ‘everything is good’ on their end."

And then a followup because the posters were not reassured:

"Guys this is a very positive update?? All good to go for tomorrow."

That the biggest update non-update I’ve ever seen.

I guess we know he’s signing tomorrow 🤣

As much as I want Hiter and think he is going to have success no matter what, Michigan is much more desperate than we are. They are bound to lose a 4 star WR that has yet to sign and losing him and Hiter would drop their class significantly. No one wants to play offense for Sherron Moore. So you might at well go all out to secure a 5 star RB that you can promise alot of carries to.

As for us, we still have a top 5 class. We have Georges in the works for next year. And we can sign a good complement in the transfer portal until then. But it still sucks becuase Hiter is special.

My thoughts as well. Michigan needs Hiter big time. They'd match whatever we throw out most likely

I do agree. Michigan side probably told him that earlier today whenever the first larger offer came in

"no one will outbid us for you. you're our guy" and they've just been sitting back collecting bigger offers and forwarding them to Michigan.

must be a wild day for the Hiter camp

We ought to drive the price up just for grins, biggest supportable offer available.
