I don't care about this give and take one way or the other.

But what I saw has been a kid kicking for the Vols. That's not what the Vol program needs or is about. He has one job that has been pared back in that he does not have kick off duties. No opponents dread to see him run on the field against them. I don't blame him, I blame Heup for allowing the condition to continue.

He is a fader of the ball. We golfers know what that is and what causes it. We know his miss - push right or pull hook left if he rushes it because he is a technique kicker that has to stay in rhythm. Extra pressure rattles him and throws his rhythm off. It has been obvious by his expressions on the sideline.

We need an alpha kicker with an explosive leg that hates to miss who can also handle kick off duties.
You got any ideas? Thought not

I honestly don't know. I've seen videos saying that they Kraft thought he could get Kiffin and other big names. Sounds to me like they thought they were a bigger fish than they actually were. I'm willing to bet there will be a 30 for 30 on this one day. I've never seen a program fall and crumble this fast. They are in a complete rebuild now.
Wonder if Adidas is regretting that 10-year 300 million dollar deal with them yet

We're still restricted to 83 scholarships right now.

But the number for 2026 should grow to 105 total (no walk ons) and we'd still have the 2 scholarship restriction.

So 103 on scholarship... this year we entered the season with 82 and I think with some folks leaving it's down to 80.

That's without counting graduating seniors or our own players that hit the portal...

In other words this class could be one that's very large since we will be pushing to reach 103 players.

Really as much as you want as long as we keep it under the Scholarships number. So basically, you have to cut the fat every time we add someone.
Isn’t it 105 limit now seems like we could add about 20 extra players from recruiting and the portal than usually unless we have a small senior class leaving..

I did in high school. Literally pulled off the soccer field one practice to go do it for a couple games. I could still kick one around 45 now. Doesn’t mean I could do it in a game or routinely at my age ha
Heck some of those NFL kickers are old. I think George Blanda was collecting Social Security before he retired.
