I think it's being overblown a bit...I know they were working Bey, but I just think the OC leaving was the nail in the coffin. If Pope stops recruiting him, he still likely signs with OSU.Part of me wonders if the “mom forced his hand” narrative is being overblown a bit. It’s hard to say. No one probably knows except the family. I just hope it was more of a mutual decision supported by his mother and not exclusively her decision.
They probably wanted it to come out after signing day but USF was probably trying to solidify their own class too. Wouldn't be surprised if USF went ahead and leaked it.FWIW it's being reported that OSU didn't notify Chris Henry Jr. of the Hartline move before he had his ceremony this morning. He was decked out in OSU gear and prepared to sign just like Bey was.
My guess is Bey and his family were also caught off guard.
I think OSU was trying to figure out how to get in front of the Hartline news and **** the bed on letting the recruits and their families know. Break that trust and it is hard to get back- especially when the bags being offered are so similar. The mom angle doesn’t make a lot of sense. Bey turns 18 in a few weeks. If he was wanted to go to OSU that bad, he could have just waited to sign his LOI.
I mean that very much could have been the plan...until the OC bolted. He was being recruited as a RB there but an oc leaving especially if he wasn't informed, could have easily tipped the scales in the 11th hourThe mom angle doesn’t make a lot of sense.
