Did Benedict Arnold deserve a medal? He was an American hero...until he bailed on his team in the playoffs. Lane should have told LSU, in private. "I'll take the job but I can't sign and it can't be made official unil my team is done." If they really wanted him they've waited. Lane held all the cards.

"Can we flip" game...

Amari Latimer, GA 4 star RB currently committed to Wisconsin
Carter Gooden, MA 4 star DL currently committed to UCLA (like our chances)
Jordan Carter, GA 4 star DL uncommitted not a flip...but Auburn overhaul may help us I'm worried mostly about GA Tech
Micah Smith, FL 3 star OT committed to UCLA (like our chances)
Lincoln Watkins, MI 3 star TE committed to Kentucky (unlikely, hasn't visited but new staff there)

2 RBs to watch that aren't committed anywhere right now
Carsyn Baker, GA 4 star was on campus back in 2024 but hasn't been here since...only recently decommitted on the 1st from Florida
TJ Ward Jr., TN 3 star may be more of a PWO candidate but he does have an offer from us...seems he had a less than great SR year as no OVs and his offer list hasn't been great

Not the ones that matter. And those are the ones that matter. I don’t want my kickers looking like they are scared sh**less every time they come to kick in pressure situations. We need killers.

And then he decides not to sign if he wins a title and they are left with no recruits and no coach.

That was based on a small amount of mostly short kicks and it's not even true anymore after his recent misses. His % beyond 40 is objectively bad by any measure.

Agree, I'm hesitant to judge any defensive assistant in this Banks system. The talent has improved since day 1, the product has not.

Yall both are right imo. Gilbert is a solid kicker. The next high pressure kick that he makes will be his first tho. Going into Year 3 as a starter you hope he will start making those "gotta have" FGs going forward.

Once again I find myself thinking about having a 1000 yard receiver headed to NFL, a 1000 yard RB, and two freshmen with 700 yards, in best offense in SEC.

And struggling to land a top notch RB. And struggling to keep guys we have committed, committed.

I dont want to be negative, but that doesnt evoke a positive vibe.
