National Signing Day results?

Until the number of 4* commits greatly outnumbers the 3* commits, we will continue to struggle with the UGA's and Bama's of the world. Sadly, I guess we gotta add Vandy to that list. And yeah I know all the 3* players with 5* hearts mumbo jumbo but I've been watching our 3* backers and secondary try to chase down RB's and WR's long enough to know speed matters. A lot of times, that little bit of extra speed is what separates the 3* and 4* players. Looks like we're off to a pretty good start though!
This years class is the closest we’ve been to Georgia/Bama in a very long time.

I don't follow recruiting.

Have we ever signed three 5* players in one class before?
Hell yes we have. Fulmer's best class had 5? 5 stars in '95 including Manning. It could've been more with the haul later that included Lewis, Coleman, Grant, Henry, Ellis etc. Even more importantly was that we had 15-17 more 4 star players. Very few 3 stars.

I thought the "star rankings" didn't begin until the early 2000s.

Back when we used burlap tater sacks and not McDonald's bags.

In this class our top 10 or so players rating wise stack up comparable to Georgia, Bama, Texas, and A&M. Only Bama and Texas have more top 100 players on on3 (Texas has less on 247) than we do in the conference.
We need more high stars on defense and don't need zero star DC recruiting them either - that's what needs to be fixed before anything else.

Yep. Take a look at their star distribution compared to ours. Same for bama, texas, OSU and other elite teams. I'm curious to see how we stack up.
Comparing their averages UT is right there with the best of the SEC.
Bama 92.98
UGA 91.76
Tex 91.23
A&M 91.73
UT 91.71

Anyone remember the old SEC Letter of Intent? A long time ago in a galaxy far far away if a recruit signed a Letter of Intend to a SEC school the other schools in the conference were obligated to stop recruiting that player.

Sorry, I'm an old guy.

LOI were couriered by The Pony Express?

Have I sniffed too much glue or does it look like we are killing it right now? I am trying to curb my enthusiasm but this looks outstanding. I would hate to be the Haslam's accountant right now.
