He probably runs a 4.4 but we won’t do anything with it. Another frustration of mine is having a rugby punter with grass in front of him often but we never let him run one time.

Yep and frankly, the last position on the field that I'd break the bank for would be at QB. Such a crapshoot with those guys. The intangibles so important at that position and so hard to measure and evaluate. Just not worth the risk. Definitely get those guys from the portal.

Is there a day in college football that has changed more than National Signing Day? It’s still a big deal, but man the dynamics are different.

I'm not sure it's even that big a deal anymore. In my mind, the vast majority won't see the field much, if at all, for a year or two. Got very little faith in this staff's evals and development anyway. Pure and simple...our coming season depends on the portal. That interests me far more than HS recruiting.

How do you evaluate a how a 17-18 year old high school guy is going to be in a couple of years down the road. His size, attitude, playing development, no way. As you say a crap shoot.

And that's the one spot you can't afford to miss with. Way better odds grabbing a guy that's more mature, experienced and proven from the portal.

I was for sure we were going to see some trick plays with the way they talked abut out punter, there were even times everyone and turned and went up field and he could've ran 15+ yards but booted it away

Look in the recruiting forum and a lot of it will be there. There's not a dedicated page per say but people are updating our signees in the regular forum

I remember putting in PTO days for national signing day. It was basically a holiday. Now, I just wait till Spring ball to look at the signees and start looking information up.

Keys already signed. There was never much of a chance he was gonna flip. He and Faizon are pretty tight and he's an Adidas client, which is a big reason he signed here in the first place.
