National Signing Day results?

The more I think about this new recruiting landscape it kinda makes me wonder if we actually wouldn't be better off signing a class of affordable 3-4 star guys with potential and passing on the high dollar 5 star types. Then put the real money into the portal for more known, proven and mature talent.

Yeah, I'm being captain obvious here, but I catch myself complaining about getting a bunch of 3 star kids when it actually makes more sense in today's game to do just that.

I've posted the same. Might be better to spend that NIL$ on some proven talent vs HS 5* QBs, HS 5* OL/DL that can play day1 may be worth a shot though
For now I'm of the mindset buy the best 1yr team you can buy. If some players leave then that's the way the game is now unfortunately.

Yep and frankly, the last position on the field that I'd break the bank for would be at QB. Such a crapshoot with those guys. The intangibles so important at that position and so hard to measure and evaluate. Just not worth the risk. Definitely get those guys from the portal.

That certainly isn't what the top programs in the country are doing. The teams having the most success the last several years are building their teams through elite HS recruiting classes and supplementing with the portal.

Agreed. Look at what Joey(mins the INT) has done. Came in at the last minute, learned the playbook and put up yards. May be better off finding a player with some good game tape that fits what you want to do. Look at what Kiffin did with Chambliss, got a D2 kid that won at that level and doing good at Ole Miss
