Yes, that's the art of now, isn't it?There was already smoke on UK forums that Stoops was being canned/he was meeting with Mitch Barnhart to discuss his future before RGW posted that. Wasn't hard to read the tea leaves there.
He's not tied to any media outlet so he doesn't risk credibility by calling his shot early. If he's right, he gets all the glory (despite having no actual sources and literally just guessing), and if he's wrong, it doesn't matter because there's no accountability.
Five years now and still don’t tackle well, blitz well from backers, or maintain gap control.i've said 100 times, now 101. i don't know anything expect what I can see with my eyes. This defense was slow. That's a recruiting thing.
How and why did our defensive staff think we were good?
For anything over about $1.2-$1.5 million? Absolutely. Bring Joey back in 2026, and then all you guys will be calling for bringing in “an experienced portal guy” for 2027 because we don’t have any QB’s with starting experience. We’re likely going to drop a minimum of several games in 2026 anyway (tougher schedule). May as well get our young QB’s experience so we don’t go into 2027 with no experienced QB’s.You'd really prefer bringing in a new qb vs a 2nd year in the system, super senior Joey?
But that doesn't address the numerous issues Nico has identifying receivers in progressions, inability to read defenses and just plainly missing wide open receivers. Not entirely true my friend..say what you want about Nico but the offense was truly predictable last year and I’m not buying the whole Nico playbook malpractice BS..if you put Nico in the offense we had this year i don’t think we lose some of those games..solely on the fact he’s a better runner than Joey.i truly believe last year Josh gave 100% control responsibilities to Haz and fumbled.fast forward to this year Josh was more involved in calling plays,it was a completely different look in comparison.
I don’t think haz put Nico in the best position to score points.if you go back and look at the comments he made i didn’t take it as him saying we sucked from a depth standpoint I think he was implying our OC playing calling sucked and he wasn’t wrong.
If he continues to keep the problems then he is as much of a problem as they are.Dude. You are becoming one of them.
Heupel isnt the QB whisperer?
Folks, our starting QB left us right before practice. We then went and found the equivalent of a 1955 Hudson Hornet. Er, ok a 2000 Subaru WRX. And souped it up. The offense was far from perfect. But, we won 8 games. The problem isnt Heupel folks.
Ole Miss was dogStill hasn’t coached in the playoffs or sec champ game
CJH has done one of those and we were dogshit when he got here
We didn’t have a good running game and Nico had Sampson. It should have been easier for Nico than Joey as teams knew we would throw.I think if Nico would have stayed he would have been much better. Nico will play in the League some day and Joey won't. Joey greatly benefited from being on a more talented team and coach who knew how to use him.
Be interesting to see if lane can coach at a level
Higher the CJH
I don’t think he has an equivalent record if he came to Tennessee instead of CJH
I think it’s worse
He does have wins over Kirby
None against saban or Alabama for that matter
I think he has played an easier schedule then us the last few years and has less to show for it
