Golesh to Auburn?

He inherited a USF program that slumped to 1-11 with a winless run through American Conference play in 2022 and had won just four games over three seasons under former coach Jeff Scott. Golesh pulled off a quick turnaround, becoming the first Bulls coach to lead the program to bowl eligibility in each of his first three seasons.
He is better than Scott. However Scott was coaching against UCF, Houston, Cincy etc in the conference. Not FAU, UTSA, and Charlotte

He has been underachieving with the talent they have vs the AAC teams who have beaten him. 5th in the AAC is not some great thing

22-15. 5th in the AAC while losing to teams with less talent and having the biggest G5 NIL budget. 1-8 vs conference teams with a winning record
I wasn’t talking to you or about you, Ricky. In fact I was in agreement that people wanting Golesh over Heupel are wrong. I was simply agreeing with the craziness that is this thread in general.

What? I think Golesh is a great OC. I think he’s a mediocre HC. What does that have to do with Heupel?

I think Golesh is a great offensive mind but as a manager, it’s yet to been seen if he can handle the SEC.

I’m frustrated with Heupel after last night too but to say Golesh is a better HC than him is downright being silly.

Dude you've clearly been triggered by people pining for Golesh. Now you trash him at every turn because he's some sort of threat to Heupel in your mind.
That’s weird. It has literally nothing to do with Heupel. I always call out morons who pine for mediocre coaches who’ve not accomplished anything. Same thing when the same idiots wanted Freeze or Hal mumme or Justin Wilcox. . They were wrong then. And they are wrong now. Smart people actually dive down and look at the details of what these coaches have actually done. It’s why those coaches and even ones like Kiffin really haven’t accomplished all that much.

And it has zilch to do with UT’s coaching staff

Tennessee is quickly falling behind. If things get worse next year(very possible with that schedule) it’s going to get bad very fast. I think Golesh, Sumrall and Kiffin are all better than Josh. Josh must lose 40+ pounds this off season, bring in a new defensive staff and spend more money in the portal and I don’t even know if that will be enough.
Always thought this year was a bridge year. Next year may be too b/c new qb…so he better figure out the D or he’ll be gone.

You can laugh but he will be fired at Auburn within 3 seasons
Ricky, we obviously don’t see eye to eye on plenty, but what has you so down on Golesh? I’m not on either side really. I think it’s a decent hire for them. He’s prob overhyped a bit but for whose available I feel like one of the better options.

He took over a program that went 4-26 under Jeff Scott, what he did in 3 years is amazing. If he’s fired in 3 years it’s because AU misunderstands their place in the pecking order and overvalues their floor for success, not because he wasn’t actually successful in the rest of the CFB world’s view.

In all fairness Heup didn’t prove to be a great manager this season.

Good hire by Auburn.
Didn't swing the pendulum the other direction by going from an offense mind to a defense mind, which a lot of programs fail to do.

If he can keep Durkin or find a high level DC, he'll have Auburn competing sooner rather than later.
