Meh, it’s a business. Coaches have the upper hand and have for a long time now. I do think he’s torn for different reasons, but Ole Miss didn't do itself any favors here. They tried to act tough, and as a result, they may end up without a coaching staff and major players opting out to go to LSU with him.The way he's doing it is still very much Lane Kiffin.

Exactly. Your program is not a coach. It’s barely the current players (they can transfer with him), it’s the past players, the true VFLs. You stand up for them. You stand up for the average fan.I mean are they supposed to roll over? I think it's hilarous people are giving a weasel the benefit of the doubt when nothing in his past indicates you should. If it's "just business' then you can't shrug at what he's doing then act like Ole Miss is doing something wrong here. Just becaues they have the upper hand doesn't mean you just accept it.
If it were Tennessee I'd rather them show some backbone than just roll over.
That’s fine. They can certainly do that. But they’ve given up on the one chance they’ve had at a national championship in the past 60 years as a result. It sucks to be in their position but that’s true whenever a particular side has zero leverage. They have zero leverage.I mean are they supposed to roll over? I’ll play devils advocate here. The players are so pissed off he is leaving that they double down and try to win the whole thing in spite of him.I'm going to bet they don't think they actually have a chance now because of the circus Kiffin has created. Reports are players are not happy, how focused do you think they are going to be? We've seen this show many times, players who think their coach is walking out the door usually don't do very well.
I agree with this. I actually think you’re going to see a team that bands together and becomes very, very hard to beat. They will eventually bc they don’t have a title winning team, but they may beat someone they shouldn’t first.I’ll play devils advocate here. From what I understand, Kiffin wants to still coach the CFP. They’ve said no. I get that stance, but when you force a decision, then they have to live with him taking coaches and players with him. Would it be better to have delayed a decision for a few weeks (which I think LSU would’ve done) and then allowed him to coach the CFP game? That’s their best chance to win that game and make a run at a NC. It’s not what you would pick to have happen, but I’d still argue it’s better than what will happen with an interim coach and major players potentially opting out.I'm going to bet they don't think they actually have a chance now because of the circus Kiffin has created. Works in their favor that they don’t have to play next week and have more time to sort things out.I agree with this. Wait till you see the scandal stories breaking about Kiffin..
He was having sex with 25 year old student and got her pregnant and forced her to get an abortion, then was kicked out of her family member's funeral last year the week of the Kentucky loss
Ole Miss is coming with receipts on this one...he's always been a slimy creep
This will be unpopular, but based on previous precedent, the selection committee should give serious consideration to leaving them out of the playoff altogether after this. What’s left of Ole Miss’ roster/coaching staff will be a shadow of the team that went 11-1 by the time the first playoff game rolls around. Two years ago they used an injury to a single player as justification for leaving an undefeated conference champion at home. Ole Miss has none of those credentials, and their situation is light years worse than that. From what I understand, Kiffin wants to still coach the CFP. They’ve said no. I would love that to happen! Obviously, I don’t want them to beat GA but there would be a bit of a silver lining if they did. I’d love to see them win the whole thing, as I seriously doubt that my team is consistent enough to win it all this season, we will stumble somewhere and get beat I’m afraid. I would love the irony of it all if they brought home the NC!I’ll play devils advocate here. The players are so pissed off he is leaving that they double down and try to win the whole thing in spite of him.
Frankly I think the SEC should sanction (in some fashion) LSU for doing what they are doing. Sorry, but it ain't right tearing a program apart like this. The NCAA should not allow any program to talk to another program's coach until that program's season is over. This is just wrong. That’s fine. They can certainly do that. But they’ve given up on the one chance they’ve had at a national championship in the past 60 years as a result.
