Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Happy Sunday. Yesterday did not go the way I hoped, but God is always good.

November 30, 2025: Evaluate where you are and what you need to do. Going in circles is not the way of progression. Be still and know that the Lord will show you the way. Settle down, and be pragmatic in your next step. Psalm 25:4-5 Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day.

One thing is apparent. Coach Heupel has built some serious good will among Vol fans. Hope he can capitalize on it.

He earned it, and he’s earned the opportunity to get things fixed. With that said, last night was abomination and absolutely unacceptable. The status quo won’t cut it. Heup, his entire staff and team has to be better. A few more like last night and Heup will be looking for a different job in ‘27.

Is this true?

Every game I go to, the fans complain about Heupel all game long. Every damn time we run the ball people lose their ****. The heupel complaints are endless the last few games I've gone to.

I wonder if Joey plays or if we give GMAC the bowl practices and the full game. Joey earned it, but I think its better to use the bowl practices and game to provide opportunities before determining port hole needs
No chance we will force Joey to sit out possibly his last football game ever…it’d have to be his decision

A majority of the blame most definitely goes against the defense this year but let's not ignore the offense though....year after year under CJH the offense disappears after a great 1st quarter/1st half...the other teams adjust their defense and it like he has never ran an offense before.

Very unpopular thought, that I dont even like.

Do you keep Banks🤦🏼‍♂️, replace assistants, then go gonzo in the porthole?
You can’t spend the way we have and go 8-4 while beating zero good teams. And get blown out by Bama and Vandy. Any big program will have some coaches getting fired. Because it is unacceptable.

I would think Heupel would want to overhaul the entire defensive side. It’s been five years and we have only fielded one good defense. It’s time to move on and upgrade. Only Coach on defense that is worth keeping is Garner and he may want a different situation.

Must be why his career fell off a cliff after UT.

Maybe the game just passed him by.
Family issues. Year after he left UT, he fielded a top defense at Mississippi state. Number one in the nation. Had family issues and decided to step back. He was at USF and runs a defense you would want to run with our systems. And if you haven’t noticed, their defense is coached light years better than ours and it is very aggressive. He fielded great defenses at Penn state and Vandy under Franklin.

Career fell off a cliff lol

Bahahaha

Just watched the post game. What was with the gum chomping like a middle school coach? Sounded like a cow chomping cud.
the chomping, the halfassed answers and the lackadaisical personality spoke volumes to me. this was not the postgame that he should have had and the attitude made me shake my head.

OU went 6-7. Easy to look at that and say let’s change all the things.

Our *bad* year is currently 8-4.
They played a much harder schedule. Our schedule was pretty easy for SEC standards. We beat a bunch of garbage teams and lost to any team worth anything. I know you like to argue, but getting blown out at home by Vandy deserves some coaches to be fired.
