So today is probably the most down I've ever felt about Heupel. And I think a big part of it for me is that he owns the offense, but he doesn't own the defense. By that, I mean you see his fingerprints all over the offense, yet the defense is his red-headed stepchild that he chooses to ignore. Defense has struggled all season without being addressed, and he's the head coach. Why hasn't he addressed it? He can't ignore it and just focus on the offense. Head coach means the entire team, both sides of the ball. Something, anything, should have been tried before the embarrassment of today. And it pisses me off that it was never once addressed.

Yep. Too many people in here accusing Heupel of being "soft" are mentally soft themselves, as evidenced by their constant whining and loser mentality. I agree that staff changes on the Defensive side of the ball need to be seriously pursued. But if Lane Kiffin is the belle of the ball right now, what does that tell you about the available talent pool? Most of the idiots are either trolls, clowns who have never played (or obviously coached) any sport above rec ball, dumb enough to bet on college kids, or just miserable human beings.

I actually think there is some merit to this.

Ive thought to myself at times, we got too good too quick, and the AA and conference is pissed about 22, so theyre trying to make us serve the punishment they think we deserve.

I’m absolutely happy with what Heupel has done and where he brought us from but we gotta stop using Dooley, Butch and Pruitt as examples. They’re our absolute rock bottom. 8-4 should be our floor. And 8-4 was about what I expected this year but I figured we’d beat a team we shouldn’t and drop one or two we shouldn’t.
