If we can’t score 35 points with this offense against Vanderbilt whenever they gifted us 2 interceptions then something is bad wrong. I think Joey took us as far as he could this season considering he got here in June. Next year is going to be crazy difficult with 9 conference games plus the Georgia Tech game on the road. If he doesn’t come back then it will be a LONG season with the inexperience at that position. Looking at the schedule next year we are going to be a 6-6 or 7-5 type of team with Joey. With an inexperienced QB we will be lucky to be bowl eligible. It’s almost going to feel like we are reverting back to 2021 in Year 1 with Heupel. 2027 will be the year we can possibly get back to 9 or 10 wins.

Puts a mental end to football season. If a team is a top 15 to 20 ranked team and doesn't make the playoffs, it’s over. Who cares about which bowl game they get? Does anyone care about the mayonnaise bowl or another silly trip to Nashville to play someone like Purdue? Several players will "opt out" of said mayonnaise game anyway. Football is over, move on...Vols basketball is looking good and just over two months until it's Baseball Time in Tennessee.

Personally I think Miami should swap places with Notre Dame due to the head to head. If you have the same exact record and the other team beat you that should be the tiebreaker, no questions asked. But for whatever reason, everyone on the committee has a love affair with Notre Dame every single season.

Most of my friend group has fired him too. Said it feels too much like 2016 with Butch Jones. I know those losses to South Carolina and Vanderbilt that season did it for me. We still had a trip to the Sugar Bowl on the line and laid an egg vs Vanderbilt. We didn’t have a Sugar Bowl on the line today but we could have prevented little brother from being in CFP contention and completely laid down. No fight in this team. It felt like the fight in this team died on that pick 6 vs Alabama.
