I read on the Looney Tune thread that CJH seemed a little off in the press conference. Making tough decisions are hard to make but if he doesn't make some before too long somebody may be making them for him in a year or so the way things are in college sports now. Too much money for everything, players and coaches and expectations only go up with the price.

He sounded like a guy that just lost badly a game that the players, administration and fans hold in great importance. He sounded like he just got defeated.........badly.

I really don't want to debate this but you're also setting yourself up which leads me to believe a response would promote better self-reflection. I mean, I can name a bunch of SEC teams right now who would love to have Halze. Probably Tim Banks too. Do you think Kane Wommack is a better defensive coordinator than Tim Banks? I don't. And I'm not biased. It seems bias seems to be coloring people's opinions to think all our coaches are bums and no one else would want them. I assure you that if that were true, we would get better coordinators. It's not logical it is given the last bit of information I gave to which this appeared to be your attempt at a rebuttal. Again. I am not trying to make myself look good. I am just trying to get you to get out of your feels after a really tough loss and think about this with your head instead of your heart.

Agree to disagree. Don’t think there’s a real big demand for either one.
Also don’t think 80% of the fans think so either.

This game hasn’t changed my opinion one bit and I doubt it did many others.
Don’t think this whole season has either, pretty much believe most had the same opinion about them for a while!

The idea that every stadium except ours is full of loud poor rednecks is not true. Also, scalpers are what drove the price up - be mad at them. Neyland was very loud all season, the defense just takes the air out of the stadium every game.

I agree stadium was loud all season. I have noticed over the years Neyland is way more expensive than other places. I think most of it is because vol fans are so passionate and hungry the demand is absurd

Did Georgia also have to recruit with less scholarships, less official visits, less unofficial visits, less evaluation time, and over a month less of communication with recruits every year? No? Ok

Dude just stop. I am not blaming Heupel but he needs to do some soul searching about his coaching staff major changes needed in defense big time and also please go find someone who can actually coach special teams as well

Yeah I never said he should keep the current staff. Not one time. I just want the uneducated masses to understand that this season was cursed from the get go. No matter what I say, it doesn't stick.

Here’s a few facts for peeps and I’m off until the next basketball game.

1. Josh VASTLY OVER ACHIEVING his second year here has made people downright delusional and quick to forget the situation he took over. Yes it’s year 5. But it’s not a standard year 5. Most people didn’t expect this program to even sniff a bowl game util year 3 or 4. 2021. Over achieved. 2022. VASTLY OVERACHIVED. 2023 met expectations, avoided a drastic fall off. 2024. Playoff was the expectation. Made it. Met expectations. 2025. Slightly underachieved/met expectations. I saw the vast majority of people predicting 8-4/9-3 before the season. So you could argue he failed to meet
expectations once and barely at that.

2. Parity is a thing in this sport more than ever. Vanderbilt just went 10-2. This is a double edge sword for Josh now though. On one hand it’s a bit silly to expect 10 wins every year minimum not many programs are going to achieve that outside maybe UGA, Oregon, Ohio State atm. But on the other hand, you have resources and you can fix the holes on a single portal class. Got to stop having blind loyalty and make the right staff decisions. Stubbornness is never a good trait for a football coach.

3. Remember where we came from and where we are. 8-4 was our ceiling for almost 2 decades. It has now become the floor. That’s a drastic improvement. Yes we have to begin the process of taking that next step. Next year will be a massive year, the right portal additions and correct staff changes, we will be right back in the playoffs.

What is his style exactly, genuinely asking? Are we man to man, zone? Are we attacking? Or do we just sit on our heels and whiff on tackles. Half the time it looks like one corner is in man while the other is on zone. And the safeties just take up space, and don’t do a good job at that. I’ve been genuinely confused by what would you label a Tim Banks defense.
