this team is soft like wet bread. no sense to rise to the occasion. this was not just a defensive failure. the offense collapsed again and looked completely lost and not aware of the situation.

this team reminds me so much of 2016 Tennessee. we were winning but the cracks were all visible for you to see then we stopped winning and then the wheels came completely off the bus the next season when we lost our experienced QB.

next year without improving or hiring new coaches around huepel we are 6-6 looking at the teams on our schedule and without a certain sure fire QB.

and people will say "but look at our recruiting" we won't lose like that team. But Butch had back to back top 5 classes and a #14 class right before the collapse. that's better than Heupel has been recruiting on average.

TBF-most expected an 8-4 or 9-3 type season after the events of April.

Espn had us at 8.5 wins.

We were basically exactly what we were thought going into the season. Perhaps a bit better on the offensive side.

Like I said in another post, the Gilbert missed kick cooked our season before it really started. To go from that basic chip shot to a loss was too big a swing-for the fans and the team.

Much different than 2016 when we were viewed as a dark horse playoff team (when it was still 4 teams)

Take a breath.

We need to smoke some slow and over rated B10 team in the bowl and then regroup.

Get out issues on D resolved and get a bit of attitude

If those two things don't happen this offseason-I agree we are in trouble

Be honest…were you thinking this is an 8-4 - 9-3 team during the 1st quarter of the UGA game?

Whole lot of coping in this post. All of those expectations were when we thought we were going to have bozo the clown at QB. It actually worked out that we got a better QB out if the ordeal.

This season is a complete failure.

were you thinking we were an 8-4 team after we should have beaten Georgia? after you saw what Aguilar could be? after you saw how bad Arkansas and Kentucky and Florida were? did you really believe we were a 4 loss team? SHOULD we have been a 4 loss team at that point? I don't think so.

Yes.

I figured that as soon as that kick was missed we were gonna be the 8-4 or 9-3 we were expected to be. Killed our season right there man

I'm sorry if you let your expectations got away from your logic man. This team always had issues-especially on D. You just had on your orange colored glasses and didn't want to see them. Such is life.

My thoughts after the first quarter do not matter

My thoughts after the missed kick were that this team was screwed

I believe it was Kenny Rogers who said to never count your money when you're sitting at the table.

Wise words from the gambler

How many ten win seasons did Butch have? Just a terrible comparison.
since when has the 10 win season become the end all be all?

how many more SECCGs has Heupel been to than Jones? how many more SEC titles? how many playoff wins? how many wins over Georgia?

how many 10 win seasons did Brian Kelly have at LSU? what did it get him?

We were due this kind of year. We’ve lived pretty good since Peanut left. The correction got delayed due to getting extra years for Covid but it was coming. We’re fortunate it was 8-4.

Unlike some, I see brighter days ahead. The roster will continue to improve & I suspect they’ll solve some issues in the portal on defense.

Vanderbilt is this years FSU 2023. I don’t think they’ll drop off completely but living in the portal like they are will have peaks (this year) & valleys.

My logic tells me we should’ve beaten Oklahoma and been 9-2 going into today with a chance to sew up a playoff berth. Fair to say we would’ve seen a different level of focus and intensity from our guys had that been the situation.

The answer is zero. Butch had zero 10 win seasons but yea they’re on the same arc.

Heupel is extremely nice and I would love to have him as a neighbor. When I heard "player's coach" associated with him though I did not expect team's with serious physical/mental grit. I think 22 stood out to me as a tough team but I don't think he recruited most of those players. Could be wrong though.

I believe that if that kick had gone through in September that we would have been 10-1 going into today.

However, after the kick missed-I was back in my preseason 8-4 camp.
