Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I don't think he's irreplaceable, but you are crazy if you want to jump into this coaching search pool this year. He has to make changes this off season or he will not be here much longer, period. Last years defense was all our D line and Mcoy, not banks scheming. 4/5 years his defense has been bad. No more excuses for him . Special teams needs fixing and Strength/cond needs to up its game. Just sick of it.
I’ll agree, not upgrading at OC or DC after losing Golesh has been questionable and if doesn’t happen this time get ready for 8-4 regularly or a new HC.

Please let this be the “circle the wagons” moment where we get our act together.
I'm gonna try and be positive, so lets hope its a clemson/Kevin Steele situation and Heupel has seen enough and upgrades the DC.
I'm dumbfounded at this pathetic defense. We have more talent than the performance we just gave. I do wonder if the new DC is already on staff in William Inge and maybe Banks is found a landing spot after the season is over......at least I hope so. I could live with that but I'd rather we go hire a real DC and not just promote from the staff.

You’re way more impressed with beating nobodies than I am.
I'm 65 and have been a Vol fan my entire life. I remember North Texas and a tie with Army among other things. Any win is a win. When you get older you"ll learn you have to take the good with the bad, like it or not.

Love Joey for the season he gave us, but it’s time to move on. Nico, f*** you. You screwed us out of the playoffs this year. I hope you go pro in professional volleyball. Last but not least, Tim Banks. I hope you and your ACC level scheme and personnel head to Blacksburg, VA. This was some of the worst defensive play I’ve seen since the Sunseri days. And take Willie Martinez with you.

We always seem to fade to end the year, I was worried the team may lay down with nothing to play for…these free agents don’t care about beating rivals etc. so that isn’t motivation enough.

Heupel needs to upgrade his staff though, that’s obvious. Also whoever is hindering the personnel on defense needs to be sacked. Can’t recruit better talent and leave them sitting behind former walk ons. Ya play the best players, practice reps aren’t real experience.

I’m already old, and I also have been a Vol fan my entire life. I watched us lose to Rutgers in Neyland. Having a full season where our best win is over an atrocious Kentucky team is not a ”fairly good season”.

Here's you homework. Read the sanctions at the bottom. When you fully comprehend how it could impact a roster, then we can talk.
It’s year 5. Tell me about how much of a ****ing advantage Clark Lea had?

Stfu and stop with the excuses.
You're a lazy, emotional fan whose understanding doesn't go further than basic strategy. Read the bottom of this article 1000 times until you fully comprehend it. If you don't know how to read, get a grown up to help you.

Terrible. Inge unit is horrid. Why would we want him to handle our defense? He needs to go

How did Nico screw us out of the playoff? He's a worse QB than Aguilar and we are probably 6-6 with him right now. Dylan Sampson and the defense carried his bum ass last year.

Every losing teams fans say this in every single game. You see what you want to see and your bias is real. They missed some calls but if you think we lost this game due to the refs, I don't know why you would ever watch another Tennessee game again. We just got whipped. Literally whipped. Blaming the refs for every loss is like the spoiled kid that never does anything wrong and it's always someone else's fault. They kicked our teeth in and the team folded like a cheap tent.
I’ve watched football for a while. It’s been bad forever, and I’ve said so. This was the same crew that called OPI against Brazzell against MSU. I was at that game, and it was almost a game-changing call. The line at this level is razor thin. So many close games and situations. I’ve also stated it in many wins. If you don’t think the conference/networks want certain outcomes, then more power to you. The Vandy OL couldn’t really block our DL much without grabbing or turning them. Just break it down and watch. Don’t just watch the ball.

There were 4 egregious (being conservative) non calls on holds on top of the others (also the roughing call on Pavia v. non call on Joey). These are all subjective calls on huge plays. A false start can’t be subjective. It’s literally a billion dollar business.

A wise man once said that being indifferent is worse than the crime itself. People are free to think what they want. Now, comparing me to a spoiled child? Gold. I like this place to be an outlet for the real world, but it’s kind of gotten insufferable at times. Ready to take another few weeks off. Hope everyone has a great holiday season.
