This is the only sane way to be a sports fan, period. Unfortunately, it's not something most fans can just choose. 2016/2017 broke me and I never really regained the same level of enthusiasm and obsession after that stretch. I still watch and enjoy the wins, but meh. We've been absolute ass before and life goes on.the older i get, the less and less i am such a die hard vol fan. i get more and more apathetic. i still watch but dont get angry. win or lose it is what it is. average 6-8 wins a year, a crappy bowl game and more of the same the following year.
Vandy has some really good players man. I saw them making a lot of plays tonight against good players of ours. Let's not sell Vandy short. We didn't lose to Florida. We have the more talented players. They have the better coaching staff. We were outcoached and outplayed today.
Much more on the line for them. A playoff spot. Vols came out like they had nothing to play for and didn’t want to be out there.
That’s on the coaches. Very disappointing. Changes need to be made on defense.
A&M schedule was easy. Correct? It's tougher.
I’ve been crying foul on this group all year long. It’s the worst I’ve ever seen.I don't think he's irreplaceable, but you are crazy if you want to jump into this coaching search pool this year. He has to make changes this off season or he will not be here much longer, period. Last years defense was all our D line and Mcoy, not banks scheming. 4/5 years his defense has been bad. No more excuses for him . Special teams needs fixing and Strength/cond needs to up its game. Just sick of it.
You’re way more impressed with beating nobodies than I am.Well we lost....all in all a fairly good season. We had some bad breaks, a few missed opportunities and some very memorable moments. Now comes the tough part....We must see if CJH has the ability to cut loose with some of the staff. I think without some positive changes on the defense we will never get to the next level as far as Nation Championships go. The Dores proved two things today 1) Our defense is woefully lacking in the Defensive Back Field and overall speed. 2) They just gave EVERY team in the SEC the game plan to stop our offense in certain situations. These are challenges that really must be addressed.....if not what we saw this year is about what we will be getting.....not bad but certainly not what we desire.
It's a 9 game SEC schedule. That's one less $1m loser. There's also the extra power 4 team in GA. Tech.A&M schedule was easy. Correct?
But preseason this was what their easy schedule was “ranked” by experts.
7. Texas A&M
The No. 21 ranked team in the preseason poll will be fighting all season to make sure it stays in the Top 25. The Aggies have a highly anticipated non-conference matchup on Sept. 13 at No. 5 Notre Dame. From there, there's four other ranked matchup sprinkled throughout the rest of the season, with No. 17 Florida visiting on Oct. 11 and a trip to face No. 9 LSU on Oct. 25. No. 13 South Carolina comes into town Nov. 15, and the season ends with the first trip to Austin since 2010 to play No. 1 Texas.
Point is….nobody knows
Heupel may be as sharp as any HC when it comes to football knowledge, especially on offense but none of the HC’s that’s won championships in the last 10 years are hiring or keeping OC’s or DC’s like his. When we hired Danny White I looked at the guys he had hired in his history so I was really excited about Danny White. Heupel wasn't my favorite candidate but again, I had looked at Danny White's track record and I also looked at Josh Heupel's at that point. I felt pretty good about it. I'm not sure how people feel about it tonight. I still feel pretty good. I said earlier this week that this game was setting up for Vandy because they are the national buzz and are in the playoff hunt. Plus Pavia's mom whores herself out to SEC officials. I made that up. I have to state that I made that up. But it shouldn't sound believable.
Yes an 8 win seasons going 0-4 against the 4 good teams you played. Fans aren’t toothless wanting to win.Welp guys, it's been a fun season. I'll be back in the spring to explain to our toothless fans why a football team that's 50% freshman was never going to make the playoffs and how the NCAA sanctions are still impacting recruiting today.
Thanks for the good times, but I've gotta go study for finals. Happy holidays and go vols
I kinda fall in that category. Before I had season tix. Then I didn't but went often, went to bowl games (in warm climates). Then I would occasionally go when offered tix. Now, I frequently turn them down. I knew what was coming today. Had a chance to go and said hell no!This is the only sane way to be a sports fan, period. Stfu and stop with the excuses.Welp guys, it's been a fun season. I'll be back in the spring to explain to our toothless fans why a football team that's 50% freshman was never going to make the playoffs and how the NCAA sanctions are still impacting recruiting today.

50% freshman roster…who is responsible for building the team?

8-4 seems pretty optimistic. That's miles more difficult than this year. Yikes!View attachment 793876
guesses?
Had anybody bothered to ask, I could have told them that Texas and Notre Dame were overrated and LSU, Florida and South Carolina would suck out loud.A&M schedule was easy. Correct?

From your username, it seems you’ll also be explaining to the healthy fans why the coach looks like a slob for the next 12 months. Good luck, lots of work ahead of you.Welp guys, it's been a fun season.
