If Tulane doesn’t win then the auto bid will be between Navy, North Texas, and James Madison. Going to be interesting how it shakes out.Tulane will host North Texas in the American Athletics Conference championship game next Friday with a victory over Charlotte night. Otherwise, North Texas will be at home against Navy. Tulane is No. 24 in the CFP rankings. North Texas is unranked.
James Madison pounded Coastal Carolina so they advance to the Sunbelt title game against Troy. (So. Miss had a shot but lost to Troy today.)If Tulane doesn’t win then the auto bid will be between Navy, North Texas, and James Madison. Going to be interesting how it shakes out.
I’m rooting for the Dukes and the Green Wave.James Madison pounded Coastal Carolina so they advance to the Sunbelt title game against Troy. (So. Miss had a shot but lost to Troy today.)
The choice between the Sunbelt and American champions will be determined by their respective CFP rankings.
If Tulane knocks Vandée out of the CFP I will totally lmfao.
The only thing that would throw a wrench into everything is BYU beating Texas Tech and the Big 12 becoming a 2 bid league. That will knock whoever the last team is out. Alabama is currently 10th and won’t move up unless they win the SEC Championship. If they lose that game and BYU wins the Big 12 then Alabama could get left out again…Roll tide!
The tricky thing is going to be if Tulane loses and James Madison loses their Conference championship. Zero Group of 5 teams are ranked. Idk how they would determine that. I guess they would just select the American champ by default lolJames Madison pounded Coastal Carolina so they advance to the Sunbelt title game against Troy. (So. Most of all I am for Bama not making the playoffs again. They haven’t made the playoffs since NIL began and other teams could also pay their players like Saban had been allowed to do all along. The only thing that would throw a wrench into everything is BYU beating Texas Tech and the Big 12 becoming a 2 bid league. Locks:
Ohio State (Big 10)
Indiana (at-large)
Georgia (SEC)
Texas Tech (Big 12)
Oregon (at-large)
Ole Miss (at-large)
Texas A&M (at-large)
Oklahoma (at-large)
Currently In but could change:
Notre Dame (at-large, next to last team in)
Alabama (at-large, last team in)
Auto Bids:
ACC Champion (Miami/Virginia/SMU/Duke)
Group of 5 Champion (Tulane/North Texas/Navy/James Madison)
In The Hunt:
BYU (will need to win Big 12 or hope ND/Alabama loses tonight)
Miami (will need to win ACC or hope ND/Alabama loses tonight)
Vanderbilt (need ND/Alabama to lose tonight)
Texas (only in the discussion if Notre Dame and Alabama both lose)
At this point I’m rooting for BYU to beat Texas Tech so that puts heat on Alabama and Notre Dame. If Alabama loses the SEC Championship and finishes 10-3 they could still finish 10th in the rankings and still not make it in due to BYU, ACC, and Group of 5 getting auto bids and leapfrogging them. Most of all I am for Bama not making the playoffs again. They haven’t made the playoffs since NIL began when other teams could also pay their players.![]()
