Hat tip to the Commodores; they played a great game. However, I hope that Heupel and Danny White recognize that losing to Vanderbilt in Neyland stadium, especially coupled with the squandered opportunities against UGA, OU, and Bama, is completely unacceptable. There has to be accountability for this loss and this team's inability to make the right plays in the big moments this season.

That being said, what the program needs are tweaks, not wholesale changes. An assistant or two, perhaps a coordinator, need to be replaced. I don't think elaboration is necessary there. This thing is a work in progress, and we have to remember both where we came from recently (the post-Fulmer dark age) and where we come from historically (a top program in college football). Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater...but definitely get rid of that bathwater though it's friggin nasty.

TL;DR version: Someone needs to be fired, but if you think that someone is Heupel you need to put down the bottle and step back from the ledge.

TLDR: Don't do anything now. Let's give this guy another 2-3 years to drive this program into the ditch completely, THEN try and hire a new coach.

This is a good way to put it. Heupel is now where Fulmer was in 2005. Do you fire the weak link coordinator (Randy Saunders) after a seriously down season... Or do you keep him on board and face a second straight subpar season?

Banks has to go. Otherwise tonight was the begining of the end for Heupel.
I would have to agree.

Losing to a black swan vandy team when you arent having a good year is acceptable. Vandy would've won 7 games and lost to tenn without Pavia winning a stupid lawsuit that never shouldve happened. Think bigger picture (not that the outlook there is much better).
I was just giving my tldr version. I don't think much more needs to be said right now.

How about getting blown out by a Vandy team?

There is no way to spin this. Bad, bad, bad.

Agreed. And next year, with a new QB starting, is far from a sure thing.
