I mean...Tennessee did exactly that in 2005. So...no?Jeez. I didn't realize PSU had already lost 6 games. I know they had their E game skid where they fired Franklin and lost to the Suckeyes but I thought they had won most of the rest of them

No, 2008 UT started at 18th in both polls. The SEC Championship Game appearance combined with it being the 10th anniversary of UT's national championship (after UF had just won a national championship in 2006 on the 10th anniversary of its 1996 national championship) got everyone in a weird mindset before the season that it was UT's year to be great and excel in a similar manner.Thankfully I don't remember much about 2005 ha ha.
Believe we were ranked fairly high preseason in 2008 also weren't we? Our coach got fired that season also.
