OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

I think the offensive coordinator Tim Beck that came to Vandy from NM State, toting his diarrhea-mouthed QB, but primarily as a guy who can scheme, was the key to improvement at Vandy. Not whatshisname, Lea. I guess Lea gets credit for rounding up Vandy's boatload of guys in their mid-20s.

Should get some credit also for being an “yanchor” and his defensive acumen.

This is the way for mid to lesser programs who can’t pull 4*+ talent. Get older players who have spent time in college nutrition/strength programs and play them. At least in the trenches.

A 2/3* 22 year old who has put on 40 lbs and learned to watch film will be able to compete with an 18/19 year old 4* most of the time.

Working for Lea. Been working for Cignetti. Heck, we’ve had pretty good success with it, too.
