He is from England so no matter how bad your cooking is he will think it’s great. No Worries this year.Okay cool story, at least for me. My family has always had a tradition of having stray people over for holiday meals and it carried over to when I was at my duty station. When I couldn’t go home, I’d invite any service members that I knew who were stuck for the holidays and cook for them. I’d call my mom and grandmother for recipes and cook for days. That’s actually how I learned to cook. Great memories for me. My granddaughter’s boyfriend from England is coming this year and goodness knows who else.
Thank you. I think we’ll be good to go, because my mother and I have been and are professional cooks. Besides that, the boyfriend has no experience with Thanksgiving. He is from England so no matter how bad your cooking is he will think it’s great. No Worries this year.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Can you all believe my son (who’s very intelligent) asked a few weeks ago could I believe the boyfriend had never experienced Thanksgiving.
Wow. This parallels my dad in the Navy so much. He was on a mine sweeper. I can't remember if he was in port in Charleston or Miami. He didn't get leave for Thanksgiving. The cook for the ship got leave. The commandant of the ship asked if anyone knew how to cook. Dad volunteered to cook Thanksgiving dinner. He went to a pay phone and called his mom and got instructions on how to make dressing. So dad made a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Afterwards the commandant called him over and said it was the best meal he had in his whole time in the Navy. The rest is history. He was a Navy cook for the rest of his tenure.Okay cool story, at least for me.
