Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Winner gets $1M in NIL money.

We are playing for $300k.

We beat Houston and are coming out $300k richer, so I ain’t mad. But Barnes is probably a little mad, guess he could have kept starters in against Rutgers and tried to humiliate them even further.

That's 300k on top of the $1M for appearing in the event.

So max would've been $2M and we're now playing for $1.3M or $1.2M. But a Quad 1 win over Kansas would pay dividends come selection Sunday.

Yeah, it was rough to stay on that hog, we eventually hit the ground........... And afterwards I went for a ride on my motorcycle.

If true that is bad news with LSU and Heupel. We'll either need to match their 16 million a year offer + 40 million in NIL or we could have problems.

The best scenario for college football is that he stays at Ole Miss. The best move for Tennessee would be him choosing LSU. IMO
I read this as sarcasm at first because I didn't think you could be serious. Worrying about things that haven't happened yet is a complete waste of time. Worrying about things that absolutely aren't going to happen is even worse.

Nah the gap was just too massive. We had to beat Rutgers by at least 50 to even have a shot.

Like the CBS Sports article said, in criticizing the format of this tourney (in sympathy of UT's current position), nobody's beating Houston by double digits.

I think he's saying that the God of Abraham, and our Lord, is more important than winning titles.
The quote specifically says "gives us".

It is a selfish take. Jmo.

Meanwhile imprisoned Americans are disproportionately Christian. And the poorest of Jews (Hasidic) and Muslims are the most fervent.

Our Abrahamic god does not do FOR US. It just does. We must do on our own, and yet still choose to believe.

"Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me." - Matthew 16:24

You might have heard the concept this verse is talking about as "Surrendering to God." You've heard "Jesus take the wheel" surely.

The more we try to control things, and the less we just trust God to do that and get out of the way, the harder all our lives will be. There is a TON of literature across many different belief systems on surrendering to God. I'm just using one verse to illustrate that there are instructions.

Right. Can't sit around for signs. There are none to be seen. And if you "see" one, there's an example of a child with cancer to unsee.

One just has to be through faith and faith alone.
